  1. I have the Japanese hybrid CD. Was around $24 when I bought it. Sounds fine to me. I don't have a SACD player, so I'm not getting the SACD layer. BTW, the music is very fine. One slightly hesitant Curtis Fuller solo, but otherwise he sounds fine & everyone else is in excellent form.
  2. Pulled this out & listened. Superb & much better sound than I remembered. Thanks for the "reminder'.
  3. This type of thing has happened several times in the past at The Voice. I only look at it online these days - movie reviews (they hate almost everything), music reviews (Christgau, jazz topics) & book reviews.
  4. Yes- thanks. I bought the Ocium today. The Japanese reissues (? due Aug. 9) I've seen listed at $26.99 (U.S.) & up. In addition the 2 combined on the Ocium are being issued separately. I think I just saved $40.
  5. Dominick Farinacci has great potential.
  6. Japanese CD issue of the Lou Mecca Blue Note album.
  7. Does not live up to expectations IMHO.
  8. Miles: Plugged Nickel Ornette: Beauty Is A Rare Thing Jarrett: Complete Blue Note
  9. As Lon said earlier in this thread, where are those CBBB CDs???
  10. 1.) Politics 2.) Audio Talk
  11. Steve Swallow on Point Of Departure, not Gary Peacock. It is a good one.
  12. Classic Time re-re-reissues. BTW, Dominick Farinacci is a fine new trumpet player IMHO.
  13. John Di Martino has an excellent trio CD on Venus. Eddie Higgins has many excellent CDs also on Venus.
  14. Nov. 4
  15. Sir Roland Hanna John Di Martino
  16. On Aug. 3 there will be a new Frank Morgan CD on High Note. George Cables, Curtis Lundy & Billy Hart are the supporting trio. I'm hopeful this will be good. I saw him recently playing duets with Cyrus Chesnut. Frank played very well.
  17. I think it's available from the AEC website.
  18. Robert Hilbert's book on Pee Wee Russell is nice.
  19. Not exactly, but maybe Grant Green: Feelin' The Spirit (no horns).
  20. Boom Boom is on its way to me.

    I don't think it'll be too difficult.

  23. I usually like the Coppola diamond series claret. An eminently gulpable red under $10 is Cline Red Truck. Has a neat label too. If you can go to the $20 range try Ferrari Carano Siena. Vintages may vary in quality, but these seem pretty reliable.
