  1. If you haven't heard Dominick Farinacci yet you should. The Venus CDs are all "reissues" of recent releases in a different format - ?paper sleeves, ?hybrids (I'm not sure). They're available in jewel cases with the same music for a lot less.
  2. Nope - not me.
  3. Thanks guys. I didn't know you cared.
  4. I'm just interested to see if you get it at all. I've never heard of this vendor.
  5. Chocolate & lemon or Bombay Sapphire Gin & ice cubes
  6. I wanted AEC with Fontella Bass, but it was backordered at CD Universe & too expensive at Dusty Groove. So - I got it at cheap-cds (which I hadn't used in ages) with a few others to make the S&H more palatable.
  7. Mine would be by Miles too - but it probably would be Round About Midnight or one from the Prestige series - maybe Cookin'.
  8. Good people in the band. I'd be optimistic.
  9. I'm not a big fan, but I do like the album with Lem Winchester.
  10. This is subjective (what isn't?), but he comes across to me as just "too hip". I don't like Mark Murphy either.
  11. My take exactly (& I do like Hersch).
  12. Does the color fading in & out on the new posts envelopes make anybody else seasick??
  13. Lily, Rosemary & The Jack Of Hearts (FWIW).
  14. Yes - get it.
  15. I enjoyed this first episode of the new season. I'll watch it again when it reruns on HBO on Tuesday night. The, dare I say it, politics of the striving for power is fascinating. BTW, was that a Dylan song at the end?
  16. I've always appreciated Dewey's playing. I had sort of lost interest in Joshua, but he sounds damn good on the 3CD San Francisco Jazz Collective live set.

    Lee Konitz

    Yeah - like 50 years.
  18. I'm not sure I "get" all of this, but I'm happy to stay away from the political forum.
  19. One problem for consumers (i.e. me) is that Andrew!!!! & Compulsion have only been on CD in the Mosaic box. Hopefully will be reissued as Conns. someday.
  20. A Tribute To Someone is fine. You should get it Lon. Like you need another CD.
  21. Those are 2 different books. You need both (IMHO).
  22. Thailand Mexico (Mexico City, Oaxaca, Puebla)
  23. I picked up a mint Japanese copy of that vinyl for £5 a few weeks ago, Brownie. It's a very nice session, indeed. Cool cover with the 'Daddy-O Presents' logo (whoever he was). Daddy-O Daylie was a Chicago jazz DJ.
  24. Andrew Hill: Compulsion Don Cherry:Where Is Brooklyn Pepper Adams: Critic's Choice
