  1. You are correct sir - i.e. you're the only "crumedgon" (of course IMHO).
  2. My all time favorite Hawkins is The High and Mighty Hawk.
  3. Directed (at least the first episode) by Walter Hill. All of you guys without cable or a dish don't get to see The Sopranos or Six Feet Under or The Wire(hope that comes back) either.
  4. Anybody watch the debut? I like "revisionist" Westerns, & it certainly seemed to fall into that category. All in all I liked it. Will be interesting to see how the characters are developed.
  5. http://www.booksamillion.com
  6. Yeah, but it's also $6 total shipping for up to 5 CDs, $7 for up to 10, $8 for up to 20.
  7. $19 each if you're a Cadence subscriber.
  8. It looks like you have a nice little scene there.. Does guitarist Bruce Dunlap ever play these clubs? he's been a friend of mine since 1976.. Bruce Dunlap is very visible in Santa Fe. He's the director of an annual 10-14 day jazz festival which features many excellent groups. Eddie Daniels is around from time to time also.
  9. Long live Tom Guralnick at The Outpost Performance Space in Albuquerque. Have recently seen Cassandra Wilson, Oliver Lake, Jessica Williams. Coming up soon are Roswell Rudd, Bobby Bradford, Mark Turner, Marilyn Crispell. Reasonable prices, no smoking, attentive audiences. Frank Morgan plays once or twice a month at the Taos Inn. No cover charge.
  10. Impulse quartets
  11. Rip, Rig & Panic Domino We Free Kings
  12. I have a very cool Japanese release called Groovin' Blues (M&I MYCJ-30152). Group is Mance, Eric Alexander, Chip Jackson & Idris Muhammad. Recorded Dec. 2001. Night Train Blueberry Hill Blues In The Closet Lonely Avenue Blue 'N' Boogie I Got My Mojo Workin' All Blues Bags Groove America The Beautiful Great CD. Worth the price.
  13. He's playing in Albuquerque in a duo with guitarist Duck Baker on March 28th. Hope they do some Herbie Nichols tunes.
  14. There's an excellent, but expensive, Japanese release with Brian Lynch & a Japanese trumpeter named Tomonao Hara. It's a quintet with Jimmy Cobb on drums. Title is "Do That Make You Mad". Great playing. The only thing that "made me mad" was the price.
  15. Great recording. I waited & waited. Finally "bit the bullet" & bought the relatively new JRVG release.
  16. Sorry b3-er, but Wisconsin did not lose. They won the Big 10 tournament & may be one of the most underrated teams in the tournament.
  17. I picked up the Coleman & the Shepp.
  18. I agree.
  19. lifeless, loggy, heavy, thudding Those are the words of Mr. Kart's review that I don't agree with. BTW, I have listened to them recently.
  20. 2nd vote for the Jefferson Airplane
  21. Yeah, Lon (jazzbo). Great set.
  22. One of my favorite Mosaic sets.
  23. What J.A.W. said about All Night Sessions.
