More fuel for the fire. I don't care for Joe Maneri, & less & less for Brotzmann (who I find very repetitive). That may just be me. Fred Anderson, Von Freeman, Roscoe Mitchell, Tony Malaby (get the Pavone CD:Orange) - yep Vandermark I still like. To each his own.

I got a Japanese issue of a Great Jazz Trio CD from ejazzlines in a couple of days. On the other hand I've been waiting over a month for a Japanese Roland Hanna CD. They've been apologetic, but I wonder if the CD will ever show up. I don't know the other site.

Read about a new trumpet player (at least to me) named Dominick Farinacci. Searched around & bought Manhattan Dreams with Mulgrew Miller, Chip Jackson & Joe Farnsworth. Pricey Japanese CD. Hopefully it'll be good. Also bought an Ernie Krivda CD (CIMP 293) that he's on.

Miles / Gil is the best. The Henderson is fine. I also really like The Jazz Soul Of Porgy & Bess. This is a big band led by Bill Potts with soloists like Al Cohn, Zoot Sims, Gene Quill, Bill Evans, Phil Woods, Art Farmer, Jimmy Cleveland, etc..

Directed (at least the first episode) by Walter Hill. All of you guys without cable or a dish don't get to see The Sopranos or Six Feet Under or The Wire(hope that comes back) either.

Anybody watch the debut? I like "revisionist" Westerns, & it certainly seemed to fall into that category. All in all I liked it. Will be interesting to see how the characters are developed.
