  1. They have the Anthony Brown Asian American Orchestra CDs - the Ellington & the Monk (with Steve Lacy). Their service is excellent & their e-mails are hilarious.
  2. Their error ratio is very high. However they are nice about trying to fix things. I eventually (& I do mean eventually) wound up with the Tatum Group set & the Pepper Galaxy for just under $60 US (including shipping). They essentialliy "ate" the cost of the Tatum because they sent it in error. My only actual disappointment in the end was that the Pepper has absolutely no printed info..
  3. Pepper Adams: Critics Choice (Katzman, Rowles, Watkins, Lewis) I hope I got that all correct.
  4. It's on my "short" list. Glad to hear it lives up to expectations.
  5. All mentioned so far are well worth it. I also like Here We Come.
  6. How can I miss you when you won't go away?
  7. Indeed - "God Bless Jug & Sonny"!!
  8. FWIW, T.J. Ford is probably 5' 9" or 5' 10" tall. I don't get that pick either.
  9. Drimala doesn't have it anymore. I bought mine a while back from Cadence for the full $75 + $6 shipping. Worth it many times over. No "flames" please over Cadence shipping charges, tax if you live in New York state & small extra charge if you are not a subscriber. ( I think that covers all of the disclaimers.) At any rate, last time I checked they (Cadence) still had it. Nice discount at The Music Resource if they really have it.
  10. Why do so many care about this L.A. crap?? I'll say it again - Dwayne Wade!!
  11. Frankly if someone (wife, anyone) gave me a $100 gift certificate, I'd add $12 & get the J.J. Johnson set.
  12. This is getting somewhat "obscure". I don't have any of these. Are any of them available on CD??
  13. The Adams & Geller are great. The Adams I'd like to see available is the one that was on Pacific Jazz (or maybe it was called Jazz West Coast) with Lee Katzman + a killer rhythm section. I think it was called Critics' Choice.
  14. Pick #5 - Dwayne Wade is a winner (IMHO).
  15. I have the same problem, also using a Netscape browser. Afraid the "explanation" is not understandable to me. Perhaps I'll try my Internet explorer browser & see if the problem "goes away".
  16. Close. New York Stories - issued 1992.
  17. Lots of "goodies" there. Once we all pull the trigger on titles like Goin' West & That's Where It's At, they'll be sure to be issued in the US for around $8 apiece.

    Don Byron

I think that would be a good one. Also try Tuskegee Experiments if you can find it.
  19. God Bless Jug & Sonny is really cool (as are all of the Ammons / Stitt collaborations).
  20. The music is more than "pretty good". It's great!! Enjoy.
  21. Another yes vote.
  22. Art Blakey & Jazz Messengers: 'S Make It (Limelight 86001) Recent Japanese reissue - UCCM-9098 Includes Gilmore, Morgan & Fuller Nice set
  23. There's a long Cosby monologue from that era (Lon, I guess it IS more like 30 years ago than 20) that shows up on cable or dish from time to time. Fun to watch.
  24. I've always liked Bill Cosby's monologues about his kids & wife - especially the ones from 20 or so years ago.
