I'll give a third thumbs up for that release.

I rip the tracks and move them into a folder in Windows Media Player, then rename the metadata fields in there (just trying to blank them out doesn't always seem to work), then burn the CD-R to send to Thom. Others may have a better approach.

Billy Bang is the one I always hoped for.

And it works beautifully.

The McBee companion set, "Compassion", has never been on CD. Still waiting for that one.

Stranger things have happened...

I have been 100% online music buying for years, so no personal loss to me. I do miss the sensations of finding an amazing bargain, or going even further back, to finding a prize in a cutout bin or crate that you never even knew existed (a lot of cutout 60's Blue Notes came my way in the 70's via that route).

And this is also much in need of CD reissue:

I think what makes sense is a Betty Carter box of the 1970-1982 BetCar/Roulette sessions. The Verve sessions are all very easy to obtain, as are most if not all of her 50's-60's recordings. And both the Verve sessions and the 50's-60's sessions are different chapters than the BetCar sessions. No need to run up the size of the box at $17/disc, that limits the potential buyers. I would be OK with including the excellent and hard to find "Inside Betty Carter", so the box could be something like "The 1964-1982 Betty Carter Small Group Recordings", though the 1970-1982 box would be more focused.

I am thrilled to hear this! My favorite Scott recording by a long ways!

They hopefully have spent the past two months rethinking their business model, at least for the interim.
