  1. I am currently listening to this:
  2. It's a great set in every regard - music, remastering, packaging, price point. As is the previous Auger/Trinity box on the same label. This one is even better musically, though everyone should own 'Streetnoise' from the previous set.
  3. Yes, he was a wonderful musician and a dignified live presence. Saw him live many years ago at Chris' Jazz Cafe. It was John Swana's gig, with vibes/bass/drums as the rhythm section. McKenna was mesmerizing. I have a couple of his CD's, and they are excellent. RIP and thank you.
  4. The one I like best from that era is "The World Is A Ghetto".
  5. I like his singing on the early WB recordings, found it incredibly stiff when he did the Abbey Road album on Verve.
  6. His patients seem to love him. I never crossed paths with him on the board here, but assume others interacted with him.
  7. Good, can I steal a minute from you? The one I want is 8:00.
  8. I agree there's no need to limit it to 80 minutes, that's self-imposed for me (and yes, I do send a CD-R to Thom for mine), but I wouldn't want it to be of endless length either, people won't get through it. I have a hard time with the BFT's that go on and on, especially if I'm not that interested in a lot of the cuts, and others often say they have trouble getting the BFT's listened to and responded to within the month. But yes, this is a celebration, so we need to bend the rules and be accommodating!
  9. Count me in as another supporter of the Song Books idea. Can't go wrong with any configuration of any of that material.
  10. I am. Gotta have Randy involved
  11. Works for me, thanks. Maybe place a running time limit for each contributor, based on how many we have/
  12. Might end up making for an epic-length BFT, depending on how many people participate in providing tracks. I always hold things to 80 minutes (1 CD-R) regardless of how many tracks I would like to include.
  13. Agreed. And if so, this stuff has been around for decades in various configurations.
  14. Used copy of this, good deal on Ebay:
  15. Credit where credit's due: @TTK actually posted that cut, I posted their Nuggets classic "Open My Eyes" right behind it. Rundgren's a Philly (Upper Darby) guy, I have two good friends who went to high school with him. He was recognized as a great talent even then.
  16. Thank you! I never listened much to the 'Gaucho' album, don't care for it. Jarrett had a point.
  17. What is the Jarrett connection/story?
  18. Great set at a great price. $38 for 8 CD's of that band? Carpe Dium!
