  5. Yep, ubu, I had about a third of this material from different CDs and I have always loved Berigan! Worst thing is that the "black zone" on my shelves has grown quickly in the last months (Chu Berry, Columbia, Prez/Basie, Hampton, Teagarden, Bix/Tram/Trumbauer and one more I can't remember now).... and my wife has noticed this!
  6. Here's one more query, this time for our resident English oldtimers: Could anybody confirm catalog number for the English Emi/One-Up reissue of Harry Carney's "Rock Me Gently" LP? I have seen it listed as DU0133, BUT this serial number looks much more like the Emi/Double-Up reissues (such as DU0125 for this "Rock Me Gently" LP). All the Emi/One-Up issues I have seen have a OU XXXX serial number, such us OU 2159 for The G.U.S. (Footwear) BAND disc called "Kings of Brass". Any help is much appreciated! A
  7. If anybody owns a copy of Harold Ashby & Paul Gonsalves - Two from Duke (Columbia Lansdowne series SX 6326), could you check it and confirm recording dates, personnel, track listing and timings? As far as I know, this disc extracts several tracks from three different sessions. Thanks in advance!Agustín Pérez
  8. In the latest batch from Fresh Sound Records, there are two new CDs that could be of interest for crazy EKE&Ellingtonians lovers: FSR-CD 531 - Mercer Ellington - Stepping Into Swing Society reissues -Mercer Ellington - Stepping Into Swing Society (Coral CRL 57225) -Mercer Ellington - Colors In Rhythm (Coral CRL 57293) FSR-CD 532 - The Music Of The Great Ellingtonians reissues -Harry Carney - The Duke's Men (Philips LP 12": 849.106), also issued as [Columbia LP 12": 33SX 1323 — Rock Me Gently] and [Metronome LP 12": MLP 15066 — Rock Me Gently] -Booty Wood - Hang In There (Master Jazz Recordings LP 12": MJR 8102 — Hang In There) also issued as [Columbia LP 12": 33SX 1342 — Booty] and [Metronome LP 12": MLP 15074 — Hang In There] -Paul Gonsalves/Harold Ashby - Tenor Stuff (Columbia LP 12": 33SX 1379) To my knowledge, none of these LPs have been reissued on CD in their entirety. 18. This has been recently published by Delmark: Willie The Lion Smith & Don Ewell - Stride Piano Duets. Live in Toronto, 1966 This is not a reissue of the Grand Piano disc on Sackville, but completely new and fresh material. The music comes from tapes made during a gig shared by the Lion and Don Ewell in a Yonge Street Toronto hostelry -- the Golden Nugget -- in 1966. The tapes were owned by Don Ewell's widow, Mary, and have been taken over by Delmark.
