  1. Nothing to add to this thread, really. Just wanted to give a hearty welcome to my good friend Fernando. I hope you start posting frequently round here: you have a lot to contribute! (and what´s more... with a very good English... unlike others) Un abrazo, Agustín
  2. Don´t believe they´re from Andorra, Chuck. Taxes, that is. In the Tomajazz Forums now we´re calling them "The emporium".

  9. Done! Believe me, that vote for ODJB was not mine!
  10. Maybe you took it from this one? (I haven´t managed to get personnel neither for the later nor for the former)
  11. This one? Plaisir D´Amour
  12. October 9, 1959 Kongresshauss, Zurich (Switzerland) Clark Terry, Ray Nance, Quentin Jackson, Russell Procope, Duke Ellington, Jimmy Woode, James Johnson Of course, Ray Nance on vocals (shame on me!!!) Cheers, Agustín What's your source, Agu? Lord? It's correct, anyway! I am a very well informed guy! Is your source a video tape? No. The video was recently seeded over on easytree.org, but I didn't get it (it was labelled Germany, and maybe with a wrong year, too, and no personnel info etc). My source is a 1999 re-broadcast by swiss radio. I have more music than the video includes (assuming that thing on EZtree which was 40 or 45 minutes long is all there is on video). on Lewis, btw! Here´s the complete entry on Timner: As listed, video only contans Jam with Sam, El Gato, the medley, Basin Street blues and Diminuendo... Of course, highly interested in getting this recording!
  13. Nope! W.E. Timner´s "Ellingtonia. The recorded music of Duke Ellington and his sidemen" (Scarecrow Press), fourth edition. Waaaaay better than Lord (though it doesn´t include releases).

  15. Track 9 After listening to MJQ´s version of "Ko-Ko" (in "For Ellington" disc), I´ll go with mikeweil and say John Lewis is one of the two pianists.

  18. Agreed! Music is fun, ain´t it?
  19. But is it Ellingtonia?
  20. Nice piece. Some AMG research didn´t bring any answer. I will try it again tonight!
