  1. I have it as well. Overwhelming in quantity, yet great listening. There's that blog site that has released (apparently with Dunmall's permission) another 40-50 sessions.
  2. Devastated. At the end they played very well, but they still are not contenders.
  3. Damn it. Listened and Ciccolini gets kicked to the curb. Ordered this set.
  4. Brazil squeaks by in the shoot out. I wish these teams had met later, Chile played awesome this tournament.
  5. Tracks that still work for me are In My Time of Dying and The Ocean.
  6. 2-2 Portugal US. Damn, on the LAST play of the game, Portugal ties it. Ugh!!!!!!!
  7. Shocked. Germany down to Ghana! Still plenty of time left.
  8. Argentina escapes, thanks to Messi.
  9. France is murdering the Swiss.
  10. I don't think Ross is a good writer. Reminds me of Blake Gopnik, brother to Adam, who also writes for the New Yorker. Blake wrote about art in the Washington Post for several years, and had a slightly more condesending tone than Ross, but no less fervent about describing events and things. Everyone who was in the art scene in DC hated Blake.
  11. I would only pick up III, as it is the one Zep album that has any staying power for me. OK, two - - Houses of the Holy. OK, three -- Physical Graffitti......
  12. Good lord, that's some horrible writing.
  13. The Heifetz/Piatigorsky set for $20 was too good to pass up.
  14. I thought Saul Bass had a hand on the design, but perhaps it was the television logo I'm thinking about. http://www.pinterest.com/ardenriordan/neil-fujita/ I'm surprised there isn't a book on his designs and graphics.
  15. While I'm glad there is a resurgence in interest and buying of vinyl, my recent visits to several independent shops -- in Richmond, VA and in DC -- have shown a very similar stock of titles, all new, all expensive. The stores that have a larger stock of used lps, no matter the genre, are few. I'm wondering if this similarity will hurt these stores in the long run, as they are competing with online retailers.
  16. Oh that's not good; optimal cable dynamic range can only occur on the 4th floor of a mid level high rise, and only if your place is facing north.
  17. Go to the Mapleshade website and see what they "offer" in the latest and greatest in cable elevation technology. Notched cut blocks of wood.
  18. I thought carpet had an effect on the wires as opposed to hardwood floors? Btw, snakeoil are the cable elevating sticks that are sold by certain vendors.
  19. Geez, DG corporate brass, could you find an uglier picture to slap on a box set? Fricsay, long dead, should be pissed:
  20. I have always a fondness for modern American classical music. Sessions, Ruggles, Fine, Carter, Crumb, etc.
