  1. I've been streaming flacs from my mac mini to my stereo (via Airport) and have been extremely happy with this set up. To be able to play 24 bit files...
  2. Spot on. I would say the same. Boulez's version on Nonesuch would be a third.
  3. Flight for Four is a must purchase.
  4. Hmm... Pentagon CIty Mall or Tysons?
  5. Jim, I somehow overlooked this. Just contributed.
  6. Mix tapes were the best parts of the cassette era. As for it being "audiophile", that's another story.......
  7. Or Brooklyn from Queens.
  8. A Don Byas Mosaic. Yes, his stuff was reissued, throught mostly European labels, but if you can get Malcolm Addey's hands on them.......
  9. Dusty Groove has it (or had it; just checked their site, it is out of stock) Got my copy last Friday.
  10. The series has really hit its stride with this third season. I find it really engaging.
  11. 50 Miles is an excellent store. Quality items, through and through,
  12. I don't know that work too well but feel like if it had the Mosaic treatment, I'd learn it. Or whatever part of it I could learn. Believe me, that Hamilton group is worth learning. Seriously underrated.
  13. Chico. Hamilton. Complete. Impulse. Recordings.
  14. What does Sonny Fortune sound like on that one? Like Sonny Fortune, just less experienced. It's a nice hard bop album.
  15. The Stan Hunter is surprisingly good.
  16. ditto :tup
  17. Wish he had won it. But it is great that he was in the running.
  18. Nice to walk by, but nothing of interest inside. That area of Bleeker Street has seen better days.
  19. So am I, after discovering this is mysteriously missing from my collection. Must have lent it to someone.......
  20. Yes, but try to do that for international shipping and the costs becomes even more prohibitive. The rising costs, especially where overseas is concerned, has killed my ability to sell items overseas.
  21. FAB Trio, Old Dog, Nu Band, the Ted Daniel, Byard Lancasters, the Juma Sultan cd, Henry Grimes & Rashid Ali, Joe Chambers, Arnold Cheatham. David Hurley's Outer Nebula is a surprise, recommended as well, as Eero Kovistoinen's 3rd version. Lots of good stuff here.
  22. There are many fine ones, but it is this mono version that for me gets to the heart of it all (sorry for the obnoxiously large jpeg):
