  1. I don't think he'll break up a very expensive set.
  2. "Hipsters" wanting their skronk on vinyl. They have no clue about the sources, whether it was digital or analogue. The prices are somewhat outrageous for what you get.
  3. Geez, $100+ on Amazon for the Mosaic?!?
  4. It depends on your sound system setup. I upgraded recently and found no issues with regards to these sets.
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ykpwr8K3M4 Fela!
  6. I agree on the hot remastering. As for the remastered Black Saint/Soul notes, I think they have done a good job.
  7. Amadeus Pro. You can take the large file and insert track markers, and export it to any file type you like.
  8. I'm OK with the remasters as well. Looking forward to the Cyrille and Murray box sets.
  9. http://www.crainsnewyork.com/article/20130721/REAL_ESTATE/307219987 An engineering event that will go unnoticed.
  10. I ordered the complete Tempo recordings -- should arrive soon. I noticed in October the same label will release a 5 cd set of Dizzy Reece, covering roughly 1954-62.
  11. Got my copy from Dusty Groove today. It is an outstanding reissue.
  12. I'm interested to know as well. I don't mind the DKV and School Days material. But Vandermark is someone I don't need a lot of, and only mixed in with a lot of other musicians.
  13. Support the man, buy em all! I did......
  14. 5 Guys is a local chain exploding to national (and, reading this topic, now international). They were very good when they started, but I found the ones nearest me are too greasy, and I got tired of stumbling all over the discarded peanut shells on the floor. I prefer Elevation Burger in Falls Church.
  15. Y'know, the National Gallery of Art (where I work) has a nice exhibition on Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes, and their collaborative efforts with the major artists of their time.
  16. Ordered mine as well. Can't wait!
  17. Yeah, I'm all over this.....
  18. My bad. I thought it was available for download.
  19. I bet if there are any future reissues from Blue Note, it will come via downloads like the Donald Byrd live concert.
  20. An incredible collection of music.
  21. very nice!
  22. Congratulations Chuck!
  23. Picked this one up yesterday. This is a hell of an album, especially when paired with Mingus' Tijuama Moods, which both were this morning's listening on the stereo. Both are on fire!! Doing a search on the web, this appears to be the second of three albums Mariano did while in Japan during the Summer of '67. If you find a copy, don't pass on this. This is some hard blowing music!
