  2. Cormac McCarthy's The Road. Must be read under direct sunlight; a very dark and somber story, but beautifully written.

  4. For the Arthur Lee and Love fans: http://www.hip-oselect.com/scr.public.prod...A4-6C6CCFF89AC8
  5. Sure, I understand that, but during his time as an archivist you would think he had established his own system, which would include marking and relabeling those boxes that were unmarked or incorrect. Not ALL of them, but a substantial amount. Maybe Iron Mountain will take all of that and throw them in a blender of a database system.
  6. You mean to say that Stuart Kremsky hasn't bothered to mark the tapes that he has gone through, for those unmarked? What kind of archiving is that?
  7. Evans Bradshaw - Pieces of Eighty Eight (Riverside) Evans Bradshaw - Look Out for Evans Bradshaw! (Riverside)
  8. Storing the tapes isn't the same thing as making items from the catalog OOP.
  9. If the shipping is for overseas (and that is probably where they will end up), $200 might be the right price. Airmail shipping has become expensive lately.
  10. Burn a hole in the wallet: Atlantic Blues Rhino Handmade set

  12. I haven't regretted selling my Hill Mosaic. Xeroxed the notes, got the RVGs and Connoisseurs for less than a 1/3 of what I sold the set for.
  13. An OUTSTANDING film! Melville's best; without a doubt. No other film has come close to producing the sense of paranoia, dread and terror that an occupying army had over a group of people.
  14. This is why I only turn on the tv to watch dvds. I get my news from the papers, internet and radio.
  15. Ahh, the good old days when Fresh Sounds carried them and the exchange rate was in our favor. I cleaned up on Dexter Gordons, Jackie McLeans, and many others for $8-9 a pop.
  16. Plus, how many young folks, no matter what their race, are interested in jazz?
  17. Michael Chabon's The Yiddish Policeman's Union. Outstanding!
  18. Whatta gang! Thanks!
  19. Sold a copy on ebay recently. I had never seen a copy before; it has Booker Ervin on it. Was this ever reissued?
  20. Too bad. Chaos was a surprisingly good album, and I had hoped this would have been a similar effort.
  21. Yes, I've seen plenty of fine to mint condition Mainstream lps -- at least during my record hunting days some years past in the DC area.....
  22. "No idea what it is worth" -- ?? Clearly, he does, given the starting price. I hate to think the fees he'll have to eat for putting it online.
  23. Yeah. I can see potential vultures picking apart the catalogue for their own reissue labels, downloads, etc.
