I started this Sunday morning with some tunes from Steely Dan. Had breakfast with a friend in a restaurant at 9:00AM. Was on the road in the Jeep with same friend by 10:30AM. Now it's near 11:30PM and I'm enjoying a late Sunday evening with Thelonious Monk.
Hey, man. I just found your reply to my post, like, tonight.
Yeah, I be doin' okay. But have found other things to do than be on the computer so much lately. I'm still alert to the world and making my way day-by-day.
You?
There is lots of thunder in Tucson tonight. The lights in my house are flickering now & again. But still no friggin' rain. You'd think it was a desert or something around here.
I keep the Mosaic booklets in the Mosaic box resting atop the Mosaic CDs. When I want to play a Mosaic CD the booklet is right there immediately available.
I lost a CD disk's worth of photos once upon a time. The CD Roller software recovered all the pictures except one. I felt like I got off cheap to have all my pictures returned to me for only $29.00.
I'm glad it worked for you.
You can try running some CD recovery software such as this:
http://www.cdroller.com/
Download the trial version for free. Then test to learn if the program can recover anything worth keeping from the damaged CD.
Yes. I've read certain opinions on this board regarding the negative sound quality of the Lou Donaldson Mosaic. The sound seems a little 'narrow' but after a couple of tunes you no longer notice it. You do, however, notice and enjoy the hell out of Lou's playing.
I had my taxes complete and in the mail in the middle of March. This is the first time in YEARS that I've had my taxes done before April 14th. It feels nice to not have to be concerned about the last minute post office rush this year.
$6,500?
I have a friend who had all his teeth pulled because he got tired of paying dental bills. Now he has a set of false teeth that he wears at his leisure. Due to my friend's beard a person doesn't notice he has no teeth. My friend gums his food most of the time.
I dislike dentists and dental bills. Still, I'd rather have less money and more teeth. My natural teeth seem so much more convenient and comfortable for me than my friend's false teeth for him.
Maybe I should spend the night consuming a single beer to celebrate each and every year I've been living on the planet? 40 years... I'm feeling better already.
Holy moly.
And what did I GET for my birthday, you ask? A new battery for the Jeep (from my parents).
I appreciate the 'beer/therapy' pic Weiz. It's been working for me for years.
Party on.
This sort of thing from Blue Note is nothing better than ridiculous in my opinion. Blue Note is selling a 'specialty' product in that it's selling jazz to the few of us who still enjoy and purchase jazz. Blue Note desires that we who purchase jazz continue to purchase jazz versus other means of obtaining the music in the modern day (to which I completely agree -- I'd rather purchase the music and own the genuine article).
At the same time Blue Note fails to prove a trustworthy source for the product it delivers. The company charges the regular price yet provides a defective product. I don't recall the CDUniverse web site advertising the latest Blue Note RVG titles as 'seconds' at a discounted price.
One of the defective Hank Mobley covers might be a collector's item some day, however.
I almost pre-ordered the new RVGs from CDUniverse. I decided to wait to see if the disks were copy-protected, mis-printed or other. I wonder how many of the disks have no label?
