Fringe's return is great news !

This is a seriously fierce typhoon, the middle trunk of a big tree in front of our balcony is almost completely sheared off and hanging by a thread. The neighbours are in panic over which way it will fall, or rather be blown down. Nature seems to have it in for Japan this year. My link

As if the last typhoon wasn't bad enough with 50 odd dead and another 50 odd missing, presumed dead, we are now under assault by another big typhoon. Torrential, intense rain at the moment

Breaking Bad Episode 10 Brilliant, a very powerful episode.

Damages season finale. Rather predicable, I miss the complex plotting of the previous, better, seasons.

Appropriate Adult ITV Dominic West, fresh from The Hour, plays Fred West very chillingly in his matter of fact manner. Emily Watson excellent as the naive soul caught in a web of real evil. I thought this was quite impressive, the kind of thing you'd still be thinking about days later.

Although I clearly can't give you any advice, if you are so inclined, I'd be interested to know what kind of monthly bills you pay for your various services. Here you would need a degree in logistics to begin to unravel the complex pricing systems and never ending options.

I'm in Tokyo and have had similar bullshit requests appropriately tailored to Japanese users. I recall being asked to confirm certain details, including last used credit card number. They are outright fraud and should not be given the time of day.

Rewatched Luther Season 2 I like the idea of keeping the season short and intense, a nice contrast to some of the interminable "We must have 22 episodes" American fare. Yes, this week's Breaking Bad was intense too.

Meanwhile, in Japan, the toll from the latest typhoon is 41 dead and over 50 missing, presumed dead.

Bloody awful. Black clouds, 100% humidity, 32 high today, 27 at night. A mother of all typhoons is slowly wending it's way here.

I liked the Swedish series very much and found the British one unsatisfying and misjudged, Kenneth Branagh's emotional histrionics were all wrong. Krister Henriksson nailed the character in the way that John Thaw did with Morse, Branagh seemed like an imposter. I agree also with the fine portrayal of the father daughter relationship, it was real and believable. Glad you are enjoying it.
