  1. Quite right Lon, I was wrong. There are two more episodes listed as airing on February 19 and 26. John- the whole series has been available on the internet. Although it's still possible , ableit more difficult, to watch the new episodes as they appear, the backlog of older episodes has been mostly lost, thanks to the FBI.
  2. Finale of The Good Wife. Nicely done.
  3. Possibly the best sonic investment I've ever made is my 20 year old set of Sony MDR-Cd770 Digital Reference Headphones. I've listened to countless other headphones since and often thought of an update, only problem is that nothing sounds as good as these ! Quote : The absolute best set of earphones I’ve ever had, and in fact still own after some odd 20 years, is a set of Sony MDR-CD770 Digital Reference earphones. They (still) sound amazing, you feel like you can point out the location of every instrument in the band you’re listening too, like they were in the room. The only problem with these are that they are big, expensive, and fragile. You won’t be taking these with you when you’re on vacation. They wouldn’t survive the suitcase, and they’re impossible when you are trying to lay your head down to sleep while listening to good music. Even if you did, you’d never wake up again, being strangled by the many meters of audio cable dangling off of your left ear. But if you’re sitting at home on the couch, these will beat the * out of any soundsystem anyday, without annoying the neighbours. You’ll be amazed at how good a high-bitrate AAC track sounds comming out of your iPod.
  4. not even toobluth? No, that's too bluth for me. I'm with you on that. My concern isn't my hearing but zooming cyclists kamikaze antics and people walking or cycling in a trance while IPod-ing and texting, sometimes both together. After last year's bike accident and fractured wrist I'm vigilant and cautious.
  5. I told you so !!
  6. The Firm Eps 1-4 All right if you've got nothing better to watch.
  7. Great singer and a sad loss. I'll play some of her Kent & Modern Recordings later. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMjaVkxnLpg
  8. Goodness gracious me, that sounds really painful ,presumably they were skiing injuries. Snow is dreadful stuff, memories of snow bound freezing winters of my childhood are still fresh in my mind.
  9. Absolutely! I said to Hisako, wow they've ripped off the Vertigo opening.
  10. Sherlock part 3. That's going to take some explaining ! Alcatraz 1 & 2 Ho hum, this is supposed to be a mid season quicky filler. Didn't Prison Break start out that way ? Anyhow it was pretty entertaining with time travel elements and what not to keep us amused. Spot Hurley ?
  11. It's a really good film, recommended. I'm not a sports fan at all, most sports bore me silly but they can provide good subject matter for films, Moneyball is a good case in point. It's easy to enjoy without having much or any knowledge of baseball because it explores the goings on behind the game.
  12. Sherlock - The Hounds Of Baskerville. Very entertaining!
  13. I don't think anyone else has mentioned No Trousers Day. My link
  14. Endeavour I wasn't expecting much but was impressed by it's convincing portrayal of the young Morse. Very well done.
  15. The missus was persistent in her requests for Hangover 2. The less said about it the better, although I did stick it out for half an hour.
  16. Effortlessly awesome guitar from Prince, really brilliant.
  17. Well, sometimes I have doubts about my critical faculties. The Killing 2 had been hailed from all sides as superb, the best thing since Mother's Pride and essential television but has left me seriously underwhelmed so far. It's been a struggle to maintain interest in the meandering goings on.
  18. El bummer supremo. Hope things improve.
  19. Am I the only one who thinks this guy looks way too young for Sherlock Holmes? I agree that would normally be true if the show were another literal interpretation of Conan Doyle's character. It's not really the case here as the show is a modern day, loose riff on the original ideas, using cell phones, pc's and all the tools SH might have used if he'd lived in the 21st century. Think Dr Who rather than Jeremy Brent. the show is daft, tongue in cheek and great fun.
  20. BBC Sherlock 2nd season " A Scandal In Belgravia" Very entertaining, the two leads carried things along well despite an episodic, fragmented storyline and a badly miscast Moriarty. The Holmes -Irene Adler interplay was especially good. Rather gimmicky and a bit too smart for it's own good but I enjoyed it.
  21. Happy New Year everybody.
  22. Finished watching Great Expectations. I thought it was sub par apart from Ray Winstone as Magwitch. The adult Pip was utterly dire, a dislikeable, spoiled brat, terribly acted. Estella was also charmless.
  23. June Christy Spring Can Really Hang You Up (from The Song Is June)
  24. Waiting to watch the new BBC 'Great Expectations'. It looks so good, I can hardly wait.
