  1. Chocolate Ice Cream and Root Beer Floats are great, but blending them togheter -- into a sort of "shake" -- is even better.
  2. Got a few more PM's with sign-ups (yeah!!), and I'll update the master list late tonight. Still room for more sign-ups!!! (Where's Jim Sangry??? ) And actually, there probably will be for about 5-7 days more (though you can always ask even later). I'm planning to mail out the distributors' discs to Europe this Monday (day after tomorrow), and also the U.S. distributors on Monday too (or maybe Tuesday. at the very latest). Everybody else will get mailed Wed-Fri -- with the non U.S. people taking priority (so hopefully all of them on Wednesday) My goal is to get everything mailed by Friday, at the very latest (knock on wood). -- Rooster T.
  3. Need more roboticons that big.
  4. Somebody here musta just got it. So, fess up!!!
  5. Spotted cheap at www.half.com, specifically here: CLICKY LINKY All the usual disclaimers apply. Also, note product description... Still, a cheap way to get a great, OOP title.
  6. Maybe this helps explain why I'm up for a Pulitzer.
  7. Either that, or that worst "erotic" writing award. Working on my acceptance speech this weekend too.
  8. For those of you who don't happen to read the Blindfold Test forum normally, I wanted to pimp BFT #25, which I will be sending out very soon (within a matter of a few days, hopefully -- fingers crossed). Take note: it will include two discs of rare material that might well be of interest. You can check out all the details here... Link: Rooster's official "BFT #25" sign-up thread, plus two CD's of other rare material... Thanks!!!
  9. This was posted in another Bjork thread, and I thought I'd also post it here too... SOURCE
  10. Quartet Out and Organissimo need to tour the U.S. as a double-bill.
  11. FWIW, I'm gonna get to hear the band Muse here in Kansas City early in May. My wife's a bigger fan than I am, but for only $20 - I wouldn't miss them either. (I mentioned them farther up in this thread, a lot like Radiohead, only with a very "Jeff Buckley"-esque sounding frontman.) Heard Interpol a few weeks ago too. Great show, but the sound sucked. Loudest bass I've ever heard, at ANY concert. WAY TOO FUCKING LOUD!!!! (And I have custom "musician" earplugs too, the kind that go fairly deep into your ear canal, so they cut the bass as well as the high-end stuff. THE BASS WAS STILL WAY TOO FUCKING LOUD!!!!! -- even with the 25dB filters in the pro-quality earplugs.) Good show, otherwise. Death Cab For Cutie was here back in Novemeber too. Can't remember the last time in KC that there were as many bands that I wanted to hear, all within a couple months time.
  12. Edit: Taken care of, thanks for the PM, and thanks for being the distributor for everyone on the Left Coast.
  13. Absolutely. An excellent question. I'm temped to say this one... ...but I'd have to think it over to be more sure.
  14. Even more fun if you open three or four copies of either link. Giant Steps, on top of Giant Steps, on top of Giant Steps...
  15. I hate to say this, but I think I almost prefer the non-"real name" monickers. With there being multiple Jim's here (one who runs this board, and one who posts here more than anybody else), things can get very confusing without having to mention last names. And I'm pretty sure there are a couple Jeff's here too, if I remember right ( ). I'm not saying everyone has to have a nickname, but in some cases -- there may be some benifits to some folks having user names, like b3-er, and AfricaBrass. Pretty sure there's at least one or two other Tom's here too (besides myself). So I'm stickin' with Rooster T. -- that be me!!! B-)
  16. Different links, same content. Why not open both in separate windows, a few seconds apart, and crank it up!!!
  17. Without getting in the politics of the relative merits of the various jazz boards these days (please, please - we go there too much as it is)... ...I for one hope that NONE of the other jazz boards close down any time soon (at least in terms of the Organissimo board getting LOTS of new members all at one time). I'd rather this place grow, develop and change over time, gradually. Personally, I do think we're all the better off for the BNBB having closed down (those of us who came from there, and I realize not everybody here did) --- but no matter how you look at it, the fairly large, sudden influx of BNBB people over at AAJ wasn't exactly smooth sailing for them (not pointing any fingers). If JC closed down suddenly, and a bunch of people there all came over here (all at the same time), I'm sure the results would be just as difficult. All of these different jazz boards each have their own unique character. And I wish them all the best.
  18. BELINDA!!! Link: "THE FASTEST FINGER ON THE REMOTE KEYBOARD" ( http://www.belindabedekovic.com )
  19. Not entirely lost. They just lock the current forum, and create a new one. Can still search the old one, from what I understand. (Stupid way to do things, though, we're in total agreement on that.) Actually, there's only about a dozen really active posters on that board, with maybe another dozen or two other very infrequent posters (like myself). I only check that place out about once a month, at most.
  20. Count me as a big fan of Mr. Wheeler as well. Haven't seen mention of this title yet... All the More (Soul Note) - recorded in 1993, not released until about 1998. with John Taylor (p), Furio Di Castri (ba), and Pat Labarbera (d) ...which is maybe my personal "all-time-favorite" Kenny Wheeler date. Highly recommended.
  21. I think the move to make the Politics forum only visible to members (meaning lurkers can't see it at all, and don't even know it's there unless they see mention of it elsewhere) --- and beyond that even, since it is only visible to members who specifically request access to it (an "opt-in" system) --- can and should be a VERY healthy thing for this board. (Only time will tell about that, however.) Personally I am VERY appreciative of still having the Politics forum around here (thanks Jim!!! ), and these new measures should help contain a majority of the controversial rhetoric around here (which I still argue is relatively limited, at least as compared to other boards), so that it stays in its own "private" area. Hey Jim, just out of curiosity, what are the stats for the number of members here who have access to the Politics forum??
  22. If I had to spend it on CD's, you know The Bastards™ would probably get a big ol' healthy chunk of it, maybe upwards of $400, or $500 even. (Maybe not all in the same order -- but over a couple months time, sure!!)
