Not that I follow the Japanese reissues all that closely, but I'm kinda curious about this too. By any chance, are either of them chance titles that haven't ever been released on CD otherwise?? (Except, perhaps, as part of some Mosaic box set??)

Hey b3-er, check out his "commisions" - as there are at least a couple album covers in there. You might contact him and see what he says. (Can't hurt, can it?) Many of his paintings are (IMHO) really incredible, and of course the mosaic of Elvin is just "to die for"!!! B) B) B)

I was lucky enough to hear Interpol when they played live here in Kansas City, back in January. They were really incredible, despite the fact that they played all the tunes - note for note - exactly the same as they were on the record. Still, their energy and charisma was unmatched by any rock band I've seen in the last 5 or even 10 years. Interpol will be interesting to follow, especially to hear what they do for a follow-up album. I have a theory that they could be the next "Radiohead", but that's still pretty iffy at this point. Still, they've had as good a debut rock album by any band I think I've ever heard in the last 20 years. The only thing I have even think of that comes close, as far as a debut showing THAT much potential, was maybe Living Colour's first album.

So, then, how in the world did those show(s?) end up being the ONLY concert footage of Zep ever released up until these DVD's came out??????

Can someone summarize what albums are included in each of the four Mosaic Selects to be released yet this year??? (Album titles, and the original year they were recorded. We can all look up the details of sidemen and tunes for ourselves.) I know this has been discussed, but it would be good to have all that info all in one place. Thanks!!! (I'd do it myself, but I'm not sure what's really "official", especially when it comes to the Curtis Amy and Duke Pearson sets.) Thanks again!!

Well, I'd count your post on the size of adding value, personally. Thanks, davef, and keep posting to this thread - I always appreciate more people being in on this conversation!!! Glad to hear about your stepmom. It's especially gratifying to me to hear about positive "cross-racial" stuff in reference to one's parents. In so many cases, one seems to often hear about just the opposite - about people who's parents are so deeply stuck in their own racism. The parents of a good friend of mine are good examples... I don't think they are particularly 'overtly' racist ever, but they definitely have some "classist" beliefs which they tend to generalize along racial lines. (That's not very clear, I know, but I think you know what I'm getting at.) I guess I mean to say that they tend to lump most Black people in with all the people (reguardless of race) that they see as not having much of a work ethic. I don't think they look down on Black people specifically, but they do tend to be a more skeptical of Black people when it comes to their motives and values in life, until proven otherwise. And they're much less likely to give a Black person the benefit of the doubt, before making an early judgement about them.

Does anybody know how easy it is to set one of these forum thingies up??? I've been toying with the idea of adding one to our church's web-site, to foster more conversation between people during the week - and for people who don't get to the church as often as they'd like to. (I guess it must not be that hard, since b3-er got this one up and running with a minimum of hurdles, it would appear.)

Yeah, I really want to see the DVD's too. Do I want to Buy them??? - heck no - but I'd love to see the footage (just once), especially the silent-movie footage they managed to sync up with the audio.

My uncle has frequently played bits of Arturo Sandoval albums for me, and I alway have to fake some interest in them... Because I almost never find all that much that I'm interested in, or at least not in the cuts he's playing for me. Sure, he might be an incredible player in terms of his technical skills, but what he has to say just doesn't speak to me. Hopefully I'm not coming down too hard on him - I'm not saying he's all bad. Just that he's not really my kinda thang.

I can see it now.... 995, 996, 997, 998, 999....... Then, BAM, no change..........only to discover that the next 'level' doesn't kick in until 2,500 - or some number bigger than 1,000. Only time will tell!!!!
