  1. These will likely be similar to the previous Pres and JATP cheapo reissues ... didn't get them as I've got the old versions (same for these two coming ones), but they had cheaper packaging ... not sure how encompassing the booklets are, but while the JATP had a massive one in its original edition (but it still lacks a session-by-session commentary, which I'd have enjoyed!), the Pres a fairly big one wasting lots of space for fancy (and nice) design, the Parker and Brownie box don't have that big booklets, so they might be included again? Maybe someone here has the JATP or Pres boxes and can chime in? Just in case, here's a link for the JATP (long gone, it seems): http://www.amazon.it/Complete-Jazz-Philharmonic-Verve-1944/dp/B000FDDYQY/ And the Pres: http://www.amazon.it/The-Complete-Studio-Sessions-One/dp/B000PMFUSU/ Addition: since they're Universal Italy produced (or so it seems), they might be identical, package-wise, to the Universal sets of previous Fantasy boxes (i.e. Chet Baker on Riverside, Sonny Rollins on Prestige, Monk on Riverside etc.). The only one of those I ever got was the Rollins, which had a minimal booklet with a double page on each album, one side displaying the original front cover, the other listing all infos in the usual Fantasy/OJCCD style. No notes whatsoever.
  2. Oh yes! I still remember the day I first heard that session on the Conn CD! Wonderful!
  3. Yes, lots of love!
  4. Since the thread starter here and another obnoxious character have single-handedly stopped all discussions in the politics forum, at least one section of the board needn't be marked as read all that often anymore

Oh shit, that's sad! Got to dig up that LP of hers.
  7. It's odd that that list didn't include 'What is this thing called soul' (Pablo), from the 1960 tour. Or 'Cannonball No 1' (Dobre) from 1969. Oh well. MG It's all there, just click onto the Paris concert and you'll see the various releases! EDIT I: err, make that: click on any of the three concerts ... guess since the entire venture is albums based and that wasn't the smartest option, it does make sense to group that material in a different way! EDIT II: Kind of weird to see that Laserlight put "Big Pee" (the only really missing track from the Fantasy releases, besides the cut out piano solo on the other version that is included - what was the matter there!?) in with the 1969 set: http://www.cannonball-adderley.com/916.htm

  9. Good to hear you got a nice deal! Wish I had the money, but alas ... anyway, glad to hear you've still got plenty of music - your CD collection is pretty huge, too! Hope you'll live a healthy 150 years, then!

  13. some interesting discussion in this previous thread (sorry, I still think it would make sense to pick up those existing threads rather than create new ones ... unless there's some nazi venom in the old ones, I do agree there):
