If a musician wishes to express his or herself in a deep and profound manner more power too them they have my respect and admiration. On the other hand there's not a damn thing wrong with someone doing something well even if it's not original. If they're having fun and bringing joy and happiness to themselves and others well I personally have no problem with that as a matter of fact I can dig that kind of approach. Music ideally should fit your mood at the time sometimes that is deep and profound and sometimes you need something that pleases you and makes you feel alright. There's room for both.

Now that I think about it hatred is a bit strong in this case. Let me put it this way if those teams who are on my not favorite list lose I won't lose any sleep over it. Dave James the reason the Red Wings are on the not one of my favorite lists is becase I'm an Avalanche fan. However I do respect the Wings for being a consistently good hockey club.
