  1. . Seriously good luck to them.
  2. Thanks Big Al.
  3. Reading about all these bargains is getting me to the point where I can barely handle it. Can I safely assume there is a web site where you can check it out and possibly join?
  4. I prefer St. Louis but I'm ok with Lansing if no other reason but to give a tip of the hat for our excellent board hosts.
  5. The Dodgers are geeting hosed on this one but there are some positives. One dumping Brown's salary can create more wiggle room for LA to get some offensive help. Two the Dodgers have some good pitchers coming up through the system. Kevin Brown is a great pitcher and a warrior but if he gets hurt he's usually down for awhile and at 39 I imagine the rehab just gets tougher.
  6. Anytime from late May prior to Labor Day would be good for me after that no can do.
  7. I'll look into some of those that JSngry mentioned they sound pretty interesting. Getz that is merely "good" is usually still up there. If Joel Dorn has any more of that Stitt/Patterson live stuff I hope that he breaks out with it someday.
  8. Roomful of Blues has jazz tunes on several of their cd's.
  9. Afrodisia,Una Mas and didn't he do a version of Chicken and Dumplings with Art Blakey? Just a few great tunes from one of the greats.
  10. There's a Malo box set now on Rhino Handmade that is their complete Warner recordings. http://www.rhinohandmade.com/ Are those good? I've been debating whether to take the plunge, or whether the Best of is enough. I had the Best of, but it disappeared from my office once upon a time, never to be seen since. You fiend. Cant resist-gasp-must spend money- It really depends on how much you like the group. I have the best of at home and it has some good stuff though I think they edited some of the extended numbers and those really cook!!!
  11. I'd say right now St. Louis first,Lansing second and Duluth third. It would be a gas if this could happen. It would work best for me if it could before Labor Day. I cover high school sports for the radio station that I work for and once Labor Day commences I'm pretty much joined at the hip with it until mid May.
  12. 86,000 and trucking!!!
  13. Conn what I was alluding to was Jim Sangrey's threard on the Blown Note Bulletin Board-I should have been more specific about that-my bad! Thanks to you for reviving this most pleasant memory I just wish that if Joel Dorn had more that he would've committed more to cd-oh well!
  14. Great piano player this is a sad day.
  15. By 'Dreck Chaff, would you mean something like this: http://web.archive.org/web/20020618173831/...ic&f=2&t=002058 Good guess dude.
  16. When in doubt ask the mule.
  17. If Mike wants to do that I suppose that's his deal but to my way of thinking that would be a considerable output of time seperating the useful information wheat from the flame wars and other assorted dreck chaff.
  18. It was on the blown note. I've read enough of your posts to make me believe that you're doing just fine unless you're playing a trick on me which I can assure you isn't that hard a thing to do.
  19. Some people don't like the Varitone but I'm not one of them. The trio on this cd plays with a fiery intensity that I just love. Billy James is rock solid, Sonny just absolutely wails and Don Patterson's playing is like a Randy Johnson fastball in the upper 90's and coming in high and tight. Yow !!!! This CD absolutely rules thank you JSngry for the heads up on this one.
  20. Last I heard he was working for Carlos in some capacity.
  21. Wonder if there will be a run on the market?
  22. Dread Pirate Kidd-arrghh matey!!!
  23. I remember him from his days with Paul Butterfield. It was absolutely horrible what happened to him. Did they ever catch the bastard(s) who did it?
