Additional thoughts.Johnny Cash continued to do quality work even after his hitmaking days were over.Anybody wanting to lament todays country music and there is a lot to lament-might want to assign blame to Ray Price,Jim Reeves,Patsy Cline and even Marty Robbins,Conway Twitty and Sonny James-all who brought a lot of pop influences to the table.

In regards to the Oscar Ceremony my vote is with Mr.Moose . It's largely self serving crap anyway. As a rule of thumb I not a big fan of musicals as they are usually too corny,schmaltzy what have you for my tastes but this one deviates from the norm enough to make it entertaining and interesting.

Buddy Emmons did some good work with Danny Gatton.I wonder if the Verve recording is along the same lines?
