  1. Artists in every musical genre run the risk of being brushed aside by the major labels. No matter how talented you are if it doesn't make the bottom line happy out you go.
  2. I had it and remember being disappointed by it.
  3. She certainly is. We have a mutual friend and back in the early 90's I saw her quite regularly in a little Brazilian bar in Tokyo. Fun times If you ever see her again ask her if a US distribution deal is in the pipline?
  4. Thanks for the heads up.
  5. The weather is fixing to get nasty out heer. Egg hiding is not an option.
  6. That one will never be shown in Pagosa. Looks like another DVD situation.
  7. I'm on the road tomorrow in what looks like a crappy weather day-yuk. Sunday, however I'm off and I think I'll cook up a rib roast, some asparagus and a baked potato-that'll work.
  8. I had all the BB King Crown sides loaded up into a cart but when I did the math I concluded that because of other possible commitments it might put me in a tight spot with my credit card limit so I emptied the cart. Man that hurt but I felt I had to do it. Like others have suggested make your site as user friendly as possible and that should help.
  9. Happy Birthday O Bright One !!!!!!!!
  10. Maybe her next article will be an in depth piece on stale popcorn.
  11. Happy Birthday Alison. Hope it's a good one!!!!
  12. Like Jimi Hendrix said "Hey Man It's Raining". We're expecting snow later. Currently 45 degrees.
  13. Happy Birthday Lazaro!!!
  14. Saw him on a couple of occasions with Johnny Otis and enjoyed him. If this one pops up somewhere I'm going to have to snag it.
  15. Guilty as charged. I'm sorry I truly meant no offense. Unfortunately that didn't occur to me until after the fact. Thanks to whoever moved the thread.
  16. AP reports that Jackie McLean passed away today at his home in Hartford after a lengthy illness. He was 73. Another one of the greats is gone.
  17. I've been pickled before but different circumstances. Seriously though I love garlic pickles and bread and butter pickles.
  18. More holes than money sums it up for me too but on the other hand even if I filled those holes than enough time to listen to them all becomes another problem.
  19. He's on a couple of Anders Osborne cd's that I have and he's really wailing.
  20. Back in the late 70's I was working in the radio traffic department of a rival country station in Phoenixand Buck Owens was considered the enemy and absolutely none of his records were played on our station. Upon reflection it would have seemed wickedly humorous to have people tuning into our station while playing Buck's records but the powers that be didn't see it that way. Later on the idea of considering Buck Owens as an enemy was a load of stupid childish bullshit as far as I was concerned. A lot of people looked on Buck as as a country bumpkin but just the opposite was true. Buck Owens was a smart, tough, hardworking buisnessman and in Phoenix his station eventually prevailed over ours. Buck apparently viewed his music as more American than Country but to these ears his music was as Country as Country could get. I'll miss him.
  21. I could use more Basie and since Warne Marsh is spoken of in such glowing terms I need to check him out and I have practically no Ella Fitzgerald I need to correct that and since BMG is offering the humogous box set at an insanely low price I'm close to pulling the trigger on that one.
  22. I admit it - neither do I. Not a one. I just have one and I would like to acquire more.
