  1. Like Jimmy Cagney would say-"Happy Birthday you dirty(Dr.)Rat"
  2. I wouldn't call it depressing but it's too bad that Payton will be laid up by whatever caused the-er-accident.
  3. The Blue Note catalog still spings some surprises on me but that's becoming fewer and far between. Gonna have to go scavenger hunting for OJC's now that it's becoming a challenge.
  4. Bonds owns Brad Penny but couldn't take him deep last night. Perhaps he'll fare better against Aaron Sele today but since I'm a Dodgers fan it'll be no sweat off my grin if he doesn't. I thought Bonds had his best numbers against LA but it turns out that he's fared the best against the Padres.
  5. I have "Red Clay" and "First Light". While I have mixed feelings about these there's enough to make it work for me. I didn't realize that Freddie had that much recorded output on CTI. Just like most of the CTI albums -OOP.
  6. quote name='JSngry' date='May 8 2006, 10:52 AM' post='505074'] All those possible responses , and not one I can use! How about - "If it's integral to the music, yes. If it's not, but it's good players, maybe. If it's just some wankerism, no. And if it's a Latin date, it damn well BETTER have congas, and preferably more!"
  7. If I want to see Mission Impossible I'll Look for dvd's of the TV show. The difference between that ensemble and Cruise is style-they had it -Cruise doesn't.
  8. I'm not spending a dime on Cruise. Not that he needs it. I'm just sick of him and all of his bullshit.
  9. Cannonball Adderly in San Francisco. That edition of the group-Cannon,Nat,Bobby Timmons,Louis Hayes and Sam Jones-man that was something.
  10. Doesn't seem that much of anything is available at Your Music or BMG these days but we can always hope.
  11. Jazzmoose,Jazzmoose.
  12. Hopefully everything is ok for Harrell or at least as ok as they can be for him. He's a great player.
  13. Not even at gunpoint. I'm not that brave.
  14. Age ain't nothing but a number.
  15. Same here. The sludge they were teaching did not make me work hard at trying to master an instrument it only inspired me to quit trying, Who's sorry now -me!!!! Anyway back to the topic at hand that's one of the reasons I come to this board is to get turned on to different music and dealing with board members has saved me some $$$$. Thanks one and all!!!!!
  16. Just depends on what's being offered. Some Poncho Sanchez or Zydeco say for instance and I'm there. Any goombah can dance to "Sweet Home Alabama" or "Taking Care of Buisness".
  17. I would love to see this lineup but our wonderful president makes it pretty much out of the question.
  18. Humble pie dept: Lendale White selected by Tennessee in the second round(45th pick). This could have been the result of Lendale eating too much pie-humble and otherwise.
  19. My employer is spinning discs at a wedding today. The song selection can best be described as something where you will want to be comfortably numb while your doing it.
  20. Joe G my man!!!!! Happy Birthday!!!!
  21. Damn!!!!! Beer at a church service ? If they had any churches like that at any placed that I ever lived at I might still be going. At any rate good luck RT.
  22. Happy Birthday FFA!!!!BTW that's a great album by Blakey.
