  1. You said it. R.I.P Darren.
  2. That, or oldies radio prgramming. American Pie isn't that old -yet- but every time I hear that piece of shit it makes me want to hit the CC hard.
  3. Mild weather here this weekend but a rather heavy storm system is supposed to be moving in next week just in time for travel. Crap.
  4. I think they use pliers. Not very pleasant for the dog and it's owner but waiting for the quills to work their wat out really bums the dog out. Dogs just can't grasp the idea that it's better to leave the porcupine alone.
  5. I'd imagine he's one of the only black guys ever to be named "Elvis." I always wondered if his mama gave him that name or if he assumed it himself as a kind of ironic thing. Wasn't a former NY Giant db named Elvis?
  6. Sorry, didn't realize that this was part of a TV ad. I haven't watched any TV since the 70s. I figured it was just one of those things they (oh so cleverly ) say on the plane. Sorry. I didn't take that into account. My bad. I appreciate the comment anyway.
  7. Ain't it always the way. Not too bad here. Sunny and 45 degrees.
  8. Happy Birthday already Jim R. Go out and enjoy!!!!
  9. Way to go. You're now free to move about the country.
  10. Is Brandy still a fine girl?
  11. Patience is a virtue. It'll show up.
  12. Likewise....No. More power to them both for putting it on the line.
  13. I played Kenny's take on "Caravan" the other day on the air. The excellent all around playing paid proper respect to Duke. The whole album actually pays great respect to Duke. I only have Volume One on vinyl and I need to get it on cd and I want to get Volume Two as well.
  14. This is the album that first won over to Gato. I loved his wild but not too wild playing. Lonnie Liston Smith was one of my early favorites on piano and I though that Chuck Rainey,Pretty Purdie and Sonny Morgan were one bad assed rhythm section.
  15. Johnny Otis is another one. If I call correctly he landed a job with Count Basie who was looking for a drummer. Johnny is also pretty adept on vibes. He plays them a lot on his own recordings as well as piano. It doesn't surprise me that Cal was a working drummer considering how well he plays those timbales.
  16. We enjoy you too Mike. Hope it was a good Birthday!!!
  17. AP reported that the substance in question was not marijuana but it was not reported what the substance was. Also, they reported that Ricky planned to appeal.
  18. It seems like a kajillion years ago that I bought a 45 of "El Watusi" RIP to the great conga man.
  19. 25mph winds ,mostly cloudy and 34 degrees.
  20. One of my early favorites. He and Al DeRogatis were quite the pair. RIP.
  21. I no longer enjoy it.
  22. Happy Birthday Alankin!!!
  23. Happy Birthday John!!!
  24. Happy Birthday Hans!!!!
  25. I liked the "Jody Grind" even with James Spaulding on it but the art work just blows.
