Horace is one of my heroes. I probably have more of his recordings than just about any other artists save Miles and Trane. Horace never fails to put a smile on my face when I'm playing his music. I'm kind of surprised that he didn't that he didn't know about USOM. If that indeed was the case that is inexcuseable and unprofessional conduct on the part of Blue Note. Long live Horace Silver!!!!

Rahsaan-you gotta love him-I know I do. That's one that I'm sorry to say that I missed. There were so many bubble gum groups on that show that I had stopped watching by that time. It must have really messed up the mind of Sullivan's audience.

Derek Trucks is incredibly talented and I can't help but feel that as a player he hasn't even peaked. I can just imagine how he is going to sound say five years from now. BTW how was Karl Denson?

I'm going to La Jara,Colorado to do play by play for two baseball games. Ernie Banks used to say "It's a beautiful day let's play two". If Banks was in La Jara he would say "forget it lets go home". A lousy weather forecast and my worst working conditions for baseball will make for a long day. Oh well! it's part of the job. Beyond that no special plans.

I also buy what I'm in the mood for at the time and that might not necessarily have anything to do with era or a paticular type of music.

It seems that most of my purchases are 50's thru 70's. Most of my purchases beyond those dates are from artists who were recording during that time frame.
