  1. Just about anything that Horace Silver has performed.
  2. Agreed on the price.
  3. Dionne made some classic pop tunes but 40 bucks classic ? Not for me.
  4. I don't care much for recurring dreams because they generally aren't pleasant. In the past I used to dream about nuclear war but I haven't had one of those in a while fortunately. Other recurring dreams I've had involved plane crashes and encounters with my late grandmother . I generally wake up from those feeling very tired.
  5. I hope not I would like to get the Malo set.
  6. Yes they did.
  7. For me it's work and laundry. Gee whan exiciting life I lead.
  8. I used to live forty minutes from Mexico-Holy culture shock!!!
  9. Perhaps something that the vast majority of us can agree on. Before you go to bed on Saturday set your clock ahead one hour. Do you have any plans for that extra hour? Do you have any good time change stories?
  10. Once again for the Parker Verve box.
  11. I saw John Evan with Jethro Tull right about the time he joined the group. Ian Anderson introduced him and then dissed Evan . I don't think Anderson meant anything by it but Evan didn't appear to be amused but the show went on and Evan played very well. He didn't play B3 but he might have had access to one as the opening group had one. However,Evan played the piano very well.
  12. Hehe. Yez....the crowd was cheering them on. I guess it was a combination of really wanting ZZ Top and being sick of hearing Smoking in the Boys room too much on the radio. Tommy James and the Shondells played a concert at a park in Phoenix years ago.I wasn't there but somebody I knew was and they told me that the group got through one number and somebody whacked Tommy with a grapefruit and that was it ,the group bailed after that. Now that was not a very nice thing to do but I have to admit I wasn't as upset about it as I should have been.
  13. Here's another vote for Andy.
  14. Be sure and let us know how the show turned out.
  15. Okay so it's a tax write off. It was still neat of Herbie to do it.
  16. Does that involve a cash award?
  17. Or the other musician could be Hal Galper but I could be wrong on that one too-ugh!!!
  18. Phil is the gent in the cap.The two in the back are Steve Gilmore(bass) on the left and Bill Goodwin(drums)on the right. The gentleman standing next to Phil is the only one I'm shaky on in part because I don't know what year the picture was taken. I'm going to hazard a guess and say it's pianist Mike Mellillo. There's a good chance that I'm wrong but right now I have no other ideas.
  19. Here's hoping that he will fulfill his part of the bargain. You handled it right.
  20. The pictures are tucked safely away somewhere and in the event of my death I have made *arrangements*....
  21. Speaking about a hundred dogs the major labels remind me of a wounded beast lashing out at attackers. The beast may hold off the attackers for awhile but soon the number of attackers overwhelm the beast with the inevitable results. The labels have been losing money for sometime and stomping on some downloading kids isn't going to make as much as a difference as they would like. Its hard for a new act to get a break on a major label and the lack of new talent and new ideas is one of the factors that I think will cause the eventual demise of the big labels. Also their inability to react to adapt to a changing market place will also be their undoing.
  22. Yeah it does does even out . Rachel I'm with b3-er on one issue after seeing some of the bands you've checked out in the past-how big was your hair?
  23. I dont really know if Derek Trucks is a more fluid player that Jeff Beck but his playing seems to be growing by leaps and bounds and he is a really young dude.
