  1. I'm in!!! (until the wife wakes up!)
  2. Well I just lost the gig with my R&B band that was supposed to be tomorrow night. There goes half my car payment for this month... I knew this gig wouldn't last. It was with a new restaurant that opened up in a small town west of here. The stage was stupid, a complete afterthought. They had a decent sound system but the mixer and the rest of the audio gear was halfway across the room and they didn't have a sound man. We were playing there once or twice a month and now nothing.
  3. It's now 40k. That should give you some wiggle room.
  4. Do I need to up the allowed avatar file size?
  5. I appreciate all the thoughts of good will but honestly the costs right now are minimal. The band pays for the site as a promotional tool for us and the forums, right now, add no extra burden to that monthly charge. Now if we get above 1000 members and have lots of people on the board at the same time, then we might have a problem but until then everything is fine. Now if y'all want to send us a donation anyway, my address is on the website!
  6. I've got a McCormack that I love. It was $500. Talk to North Country Audio.
  7. The following smiley? Praytell, what is that?
  8. Guys, don't you remember how the first Back To The Future ends?! It ends with Marty finally getting home, noticing everything is different, his dad is a stud, he has a new black truck that Biff just finished waxing out in the garage and he kisses his girlfriend and then all of sudden BOOM the Delorean comes back and Doc comes out and starts putting trash into the "Mr. Fusion" on the back of the Delorean and starts talking about having to take Marty back to the future to save his kids so he and his girl hop in, Marty says, "Doc, we don't have enough road to get up to 88!" and Doc says "Road? Where we're going we don't need any roads." and the Delorean rises up into the air and flies off into time... And then it says, "To Be Continued..."
  9. Organissimo Consumer Report: The Schick Quattro four blade razor. After using my trusty Gillette Mach3 for almost 5 years, I recently picked up a Schick Quattro on a whim at the local supermarket for $7.99. For that price you get the razor itself and two blades plus this really bulky contraption that holds the thing. I used the razor for the first time tonight. It took a minute to get used to it since it is quite a bit heavier than the Mach3 but with the first swipe I knew I had found a new love! My skin is notoriously easy to cut and I have to be very careful when I shave. I shaved my entire face (a five day growth) with no cuts at all. This is a smooth as I've ever felt my face since I hit puberty! It's pretty amazing. I don't know how long the catridges will last and they are about $2 a piece, making them quite a bit more expensive than the Mach3 blades, but I can't see myself going back at this point. Four blades really does make a difference!
  10. AB, you are one sick puppy! That's hilarious! I'll show Joe when he comes over. We're heading out to a gig tonight that the REAL Boogaloo Sisters usually show up at.
  11. I sure hope he wore a confederate flag t-shirt or bandana or something!
  12. So when are we going to have the 1st Annual Organissimo Music Festival?
  13. Damn man. That sucks. We're still looking for a weekly gig. It's so hard to get your shit together when you don't have a place to try it out every week. Keep your chin up. Things have to improve sometime.
  14. Whenever I think about Twin Peaks I can't help think about that episode of the Simpsons where Homer is watching it and there's the midget dancing with the unicorn under the moon and Homer says, "Brilliant!! Absolutely Brilliant!!!" <long pause> "I have no idea what's going on."

  16. You guys are intent on breaking the forums, are you?
  17. New Organissimo Forum Title: Swingers Who Swing - Place your personal ad here! Whaddya think?
  18. I think your point may be vaild but your examples aren't too hot! For instance, the original Back To The Future came out in 1985. The sequel didn't hit until 1989. The third one did in fact come out a year later in 1990 but if you recall the original movie ended with "To Be Continued..." so it's obvious they intended to do a sequel from the git go. As far as LOTR is concerned, is there anyway to do a movie version of this literary trilogy without having "sequels"? I don't think they are really sequels in that context. It's all really one movie/book divided into three sections. Matrix is the same way. The original story was conceived as a trilogy. They always intended on making three movies but I think the smartly pulled a "Peter Jackson" and filmed the second and third movies at the same time to save costs since once the first one became a big hit the studio wanted the rest. I think your point applies better to movies that never should've had sequels such as "Never Ending Story II" or the Rocky movies or "Look Who's Talking Too" or "The Blair Witch 2". The originals made big money for the studios so they wanted more of the same.
  19. You forgot charging $3 everytime catesta posts a semi-clothed woman in a thread.
  20. Hey if you want to send me a check, I won't say no! If things get tough I would consider putting up a banner saying something like "make a donation to the Organissimo Forums" but right now we're fine. We have just about paid off the cost of the record and are currently getting tunes around for the next one. And this website really doesn't cost me much right now.
  21. 5000 posts and you're a "Sponsor". You get a free All Songs Considered CD and a signed book by Deepak Chopra for your $1000 donation to the site!
  22. Boy, Groove was a motherfucker, wasn't he? It really sucks that I never got to see him. My dad saw him every night when he was in Lansing for a two week stint at The Stables. My dad and mom hung out with Groove during the set breaks and said he was a real nice cat.
  23. Maybe the better way to do a "donation" would be for me to create some Organissimo T-shirts or other merchandise and sell those. In all honesty, it doesn't cost me that much per month for the webspace. Now, if we upgraded to our own server, that would be a different matter, but thankfully we don't need to do that until we reach a certain amount of members. I'll admit the idea has crossed my mind about charging $1 per month per member, but that goes against the very grain of the internet in my opinion and is a little greedy on my part so don't bet on that idea ever coming to fruition. Rather than ask for "free" money or charge for the services, the better idea might be to offer some things members can buy if they want to that will help support the site. The CD is definately one thing but like I said, T-shirts, stickers, coffee mugs, etc could be the others.
  24. It took me years to find "This Is My Rifle" as well. Silly thing is when I first saw Bill Heid at the Detroit Jazz Festival in 1996 he had copies of this for sale but I didn't pick one up. I finally got one on Ebay for $30!! It's a good record. PM me if interested. All of Bill's record are on Savant as far as I know. He did some blues records with Detroit guitarist Johnnie Bassett and they are good but basically straight ahead blues. And yes, he was taught by both Larry Young in the late 70s when Larry was living in Detroit AND Don Patterson before that. Now, how can you beat that?
  25. Y'all know my personal website. B)
