  1. My shift is over in about four and a half hours! Care for another beer?
  2. Yes, though if I remember correctly, it was a nazi character in a comedy.
  3. I've heard of this Joe Glass guy somewhere before... I do like my Ibanez.
  4. So, you're saying that Clint Eastwood doesn't have anything else better to do?? Man, that's cold!! Better hope he doesn't try to make your day!! Jim's feeling lucky.
  5. I was taken to a place The Hall of the Mountain King... Anyone remember that show that used to be on MTV in the late 80's called Closet Classics? They played clips (often live in the studio) of all the groups from the 60's and 70's. I recall seeing WAR doing Spill the Wine on that show. Eric Burden must have been tripping; he had this strange beaded object that he was holding up while singing. Just before the last chorus, he stuck the entire thing in his mouth. Wild, man... B) That was nothing compared to the concert footage of the guy who sang, "I am the god of Hellfire! And I bring you.... Fire...I bid you to burn!... Now that guy was trippin!
  6. I saw that band last summer, and afterwards got to meet Derek. I told him that the best thing I could say about his playing is that when he played, I felt great!
  7. I wish he would post here!
  8. I'll bite; is this for real???
  9. Another warm welcome for you Paco. That's some good stuff you're listening to. You'll find that there's at least couple of us around here that share your tastes in guitar and organ music. B)
  10. Jim, it seems you've gone from sleepy to hungry. Horny can't be far behind, once you've satisfied the basic needs. I'll be watching the babe thread for new activity. B)
  11. ...all the same old cliches; is that a woman or a amn...
  12. Finally! An album in my collection. B-3er gave this disc to me for my birthday a few years ago, but I didn't listen to it right away. Pulled it off the shelf after hearing a cut on the radio that was smoking. A keeper for sure.
  13. Haven't followed Frisell for a while, also Lovano. No fault of their's, I deem. Great musicians, both. Back in high school, sophomore year, my two favorite bands were Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. I can still groove to the occasional Zep tune, but I can't stand PF at all. The music is so ponderous, lethargic, and dark.
  14. Shorter/Zawinal Metheny/Mays
  15. Often expressed as, "Here I am, wasn't I!" I've had a couple of dreams where I was watching a band play, either at a club or a big festival, and after a little bit, the guitarist steps up to solo. All three times it's been an older man, late 60's or so. He starts to play, and it's the most beautiful guitar music I've ever heard. Awesome tone, perfect melodies, exciting rhythms. And it just keeps building. Then I wake up. I think these dreams are telling me to persevere. We have this idea in our culture that if you haven't "made it" by a particular age, then you might as well quit. I feel like this dream says, "Screw that! The best is yet to come!"
  16. Sounds like a good birthday present to myself!
  17. I'm sure you will be enjoying the day with your family. But if you want to come down to Docker's, we'll help you celebrate!
  18. Doh! I hadn't seen Sangrey's signature.
  19. One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas... How he got into my pajamas, I'll never know. We tried to remove the tusks, but they were too firmly embedded. Of course, in Alabama, the Tuskaloosa. Time flies like the wind. Fruit flies like bananas. Those are my principles. If you don't like them I have others. ...and one for our aesthetics discussions: Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.
  20. That is wild. I'll consult the dream interpretation book I have at home and get back to you.
  21. David Gilmore plays with Christian McBride I believe, and also worked on Wayne Shorter's album High Life. He's been around a while. This thread seems to be part new players and part obscure players that are new to some of us. That's cool though. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you Sundog!
  22. Jesus! You do rock!!! Heaven and Hell, baby!
