  1. The woman who sang with Herbie. Gwen Stefani from the band No Doubt, now on a solo thing. She used to sing in a high alto/soprano, now she's singing with this r&b voice. I was not watching since I was working but heard it and it's Christina Aguamalaria that was singing w/ HH - since she's on his newer album ... Stefani is preggers now ... she was in "The Aviator" and has legs that you shoulod all know about!!!! I think she might have an inseam of about five feet. and her shit is bananas ... B.A.N.A.N.A.YES.! my daughter loves her so the room posters are just fine! Now what about Sam Moore blowing the lyrics to Wilson Pickett . sheesh! happy to report I had never heard that U2 "song of the year"! Yay for me!
  2. Chuck's probably right, but if something comes out of it that could not be seen otherwise then obviously it's all moot and more power to ya. I had my first one just last week. I brought Sun Ra w/ me as it seemed appropo when slid into the ship. The sonics sucked big time and I attempted to just meditate after I told the tech to cut the toons for me - I just pretended Mickey Hart was trying to get in. Tomorrow I go to see what the deal is and whether it was worth it. Hope it all turns out alright Jim ...
  3. so if this RVG turns out to be a duck we'll at least know who to blame.
  4. Are Telarc classicals from the late seventies and early eighties still a so-called audiophile product? I've got a box of them still in their sealed "baggies" - all pedestrian titles but goodies. I recall that being the label of choice under DGrmphns. I think they are digital masters tho, right? My dates might be wrong so I'll need to dig them out.
  5. Played with a 'nano' at an Apple store the other day. Just make sure you've gone on a diet and aren't puffy from water retention as your fingers need to be as sharp as pencils to get that wheel to listen to you. I doubt whether Bronco would buy one.
  6. hey couw did you see who the 'author' was? Helge Schneider!
  7. i'll have to disagree ... while you may not be "contributing" to the dialogue of fine art you are still plying your craft and your god given talent. don't sell it short that you are "just " a craftsman either.
  8. that's not nearly as sick as this pepe le pew love doll!
  9. and speaking of Baron Samedi .... i also purchased the DVD of "Corpse Bride" this weekend. essential viewing, jewish or not, if for only seeing that Tim Burton, while beginning to look like Miami Steve, reminds me creatively of Zorn in that anything goes within his vision as long as it requires work, work, work. the special features behind this flick are nothing short of an astounding glimpse into a crazed mind and the buddies who bring it all to "life".
  10. steering this off course a bit (as I'm not Jewish) but I spun bits of a NetfliX delivery this weekend of the 'Masada @ Tonic' DVD. far cry from a documentary - just the live gist on film. three words, as the "well-dressed man" might say, - "Joey Fuckin' Baron!"
  11. time for a group circumcision. sorry i couldn't come up w/ a g__d g__gle ...
  12. i only saw the second song last night, so thanks for the first. did he get defunked since last i saw him? some tame Vernon Reid it looks like. hard to watch him and not the dervishes but as for SNL fair as of late Steve Martin and Prince seem like the second coming.
  13. them Town-Barges are sweet in the snow ... thank goodness it made it that long hailing from Wisconson!
  14. I should pick up "Best In Show" just so I can laff at the fact that I sold too much of my stuff way too cheap after seeing this list.
  15. I'd like to know what Big Joe had to eat while he was down in Mexico! I finally got a new table set up and Big Joe's Pablo's have had a few spins. "Allll-righty!"
  16. they do wear the same glasses, no?
  17. Just pulled out a not so recent aqcuisition that has small "clock work" bars on one side - they appear every few inches in perfect pattern. No doubt it was left on one of those platters that have the "rays" of rubber to support the LP rather than a felt mat. Luckily the owner must have liked the same side of the LP that I do and that is obviously how the blemish problem came to be. Can't really get these off by gentle rubbing as I think maybe the platter's rubber played chemical havoc w/ the vinyl. But that should only impare the very surface ... maybe a nice fifty cent piece on the needle?
  18. ah, but it is a limited edition of only a few hundred so i got that goin' for me. sound is top notch. merely a re-issue of "dziewczyna z aszchkabadu" no doubt looking for a mallet weilder with hair of steel!
  19. My first!! post in this forum as I just got my new table up and running. First spin ... the only album I have bought in nearly 15 years. Jerzy Milian "Ashkhabad Girl" - OBU Records #130 of 350. while googling for the cover I found her too.
  20. I happened to see (and only see it w/o sound) just a bit of that Oprah show and found it amazing how they camera'ed Frey in stark video mode and then would swith to the Big Job with the nice gaussian (sp?) filter to give her that slightly smokey angelic blurr of ever goodliness. Almost as subliminal as that guy's book I gather.
  21. holy shit is right ... just don't look under the patio!
  22. that does not even compare to the smut that i get ... such as : "which came first"?
  23. Yes, thanks! I had an MRI last evening and took some Sun Ra with me (twas a space ship thing). A horrible fidelity experience to be sure but Ra actually "worked" at times with the magnetic percussion section added to the Ark.
