  1. Too bad Columbia did not include this one in the upcoming batch of re-issues ... A couple of the tracks made it to CD on the cleverly titled "Jazz Moods - Hot" Hubbard compilation of last year. It is actually an excellent CD - includes a bunch of CTI tracks in addition to the Super Blue tracks.
  2. Neophyte question - what does the term gain mean in this context? Thanks
  3. Tiger up by 4 with 5 to play. Jose Maria and Colin are faltering. Tiger wins easy from here on out. I have to decide that it is OK to like Tiger, even though he is going to shatter Jack's record for major titles. I guess it is the same thing Arnie fans had to go through back in the 60s What's not to like about Tiger? He is a champion, just like MJ, Jack and Gretzky
  4. Very cool ... thanks to everyone for their POV. Now I used need to find a used record store in KC that has some used Frank ...
  5. Somehow, I have never gotten around to investigating Frank. The size of his catalog is overwhelming and I really don't care to follow what AMG says. So, FZ fans, where should I start?? The only album I am remotely familiar with is Zoot Alures, which a buddy had in high school, but that was many years ago ...
  6. I think there is an "Airtunes" at Phoenix Intl Airport ...
  7. ... featuring Free Lancing, Black Rock and Odyssey ... Probably not enough for a 3 CD set ... what else could they tag on? How is his Blue Note lp?
  8. Anybody know the music and care to comment?
  9. Awesome, thanks Very nice music, with Curtis Amy and Jack Wilson.
  10. Thanks in advance!

  13. Sorry to share my email spam with everyone, but I found this to be a good read * Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong. * Keep skunks and bankers and lawyers at a distance. * Life is simpler when you plow around the stump. * A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor. * Words that soak into your ears are whispered...not yelled. * Meanness don't jes' happen overnight. * Forgive your enemies. It messes up their heads. * Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you. * It don't take a very big person to carry a grudge. * You cannot unsay a cruel word. * Every path has a few puddles. * When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty. * The best sermons are lived, not preached. * Most of the stuff people worry about ain't never gonna happen anyway. * Don't judge folks by their relatives. * Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer. * Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time. * Don't interfere with somethin' that ain't botherin' you none. * Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance. * If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'. * Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got. * The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin'. * Always drink upstream from the herd. * Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment. * Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin' it back in. * If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around.

    ipod question

That is the answer - manually load songs to your iPod. I have 4 iPods (mine and my kids) that work off one library. Everybody gets to drag whatever they want to their own iPod.
  15. Looks like it is on backorder at CD Baby ...
  16. sweet idea for the 1976/77 VSOP stuff from iTunes - just assembled it myself for a cool $4.95
  17. Free for All Paul, Rooster and Eric Obviously the KC crew does not miss many meals
  18. Yeah, I have this one too ... have not played it in some time, but I recall it being solid.
  19. Wes Montgomery - Small Group Recordings - Verve compilation lp (mostly Smokin' at the Half Note)
  20. As Paul mentions, a good time was had by one and all. Kudos to Craig for putting up with us, particularly on this big day for him It was quite a kick to hear the details from Chuck about the "the find" ... I felt like I was about nine and huddling with my buddies over baseball cards! One of the best stories came from Free For All Paul, whose lovely wife JoDee also plays the trombone - classical however, not jazz. Prior to marrying JoDee, Paul lived above a bakery in Chicago. After she moved in with him, the folks at the bakery apparently commented, "so when did you forget how to swing?" Anyway, it was a blast and Chuck, I'm glad you took the time to look us up. And Ann, I hope you got your ribs!!! Eric
  21. I am still a go - Tom, sent you my cell.
  22. I could do the Classic Cup on Sat am ... probably the best time for me.
  23. Thanks - ditto!
