  1. So a couple-three weeks in and we have some outstanding titles. This should be treat (and threat to my budget).
  2. Yes, this really is a fantastic reissue, beautiful production.
  3. On the contrary - thank-you for your thoughtful review. A breath of fresh air.
  4. My very first box was the first Mosaic - the Blue Note recordings. I was a jazz newbie and I read an ad in Downbeat. The UPS guy delivered it on Christmas Eve, 1985 or 1986. Amazing business, amazing run. Early on, I played the hell out of Tina Brooks, Larry Young, Andrew Hill, Woody Shaw, Jackie McLean and Art Blakey. That material was just unavailable, at least in the midwest. Adored those boxes, still do.
  5. Maybe 3-4 inches in Kansas City, but very cold (3-4 degrees all day) and windy. Dry snow is a plus 😀
  6. Are those CDs or LPs?
  7. Can you be a little more specific - having a hard time looking this up 🙂. Thanks
  8. March 27, 2003 (before I met my wife!)
  9. Did Tom At Blue Note ever make the jump? 2003 guy here.
  10. One of my favorite Wes albums. I need to check out the new OJC re-issue.
  11. Thanks for the note. Heard of them for years - joined earlier this month.

    Tina Brooks

I think there is a trio session on Bandcamp.
  13. Thanks for clearing this up!
  14. Is this the session on Prestige, along with a Freddie Redd session?
  15. Bob Dylan - Slow Train Coming, primarily to bask in the Mark Knopfler guitar work.
  16. Well you guys kinda took an early liking to streaming ... 😎
  17. A bit of a different game, but Dusty Groove seems to always have a pretty good used selection, generally cheap.

    Joe Henderson

    Simply adore this album!
  19. PM sent Edit: I see this is a CD, first thought vinyl. So to Felser!

    Jimmy Cliff, RIP

Never saw the movie, but have had the soundtrack since the early 80s. Just played it last night. RIP
  21. Killer album (and cover)!
  22. Next two are: Joe Chambers - Double Exposure Woody Shaw - Love dance This is from an ad in the digital version of the next issue of Downbeat. Great choices!
  23. Bought the vinyl, that should be fun and will stream.
  24. Wow - I wonder if they are trying to lead people to the vinyl?
  25. Is that the same material as the two Japanese lps? Thanks!
