  1. Hey, some of my best friends have hilarious combovers! How dare you mock these people!
  2. Very sad. Heard he had DAILY dialysis while on the set of Different Strokes....and I would imagine ever since.
  3. I think its some clever editing...they ran the film backwards.... Edit: oh, you mean the apple part, not the earlier time...oh well...her feet are in slots, or straps of some kind perhaps??? Amazing no matter how it was done!
  4. Honesty, I really dislike ol' Country Joe, but those were both arguably balks. Granted , he has pitched that way his whole career...still....
  5. Really??? More than Jesus??? More than the Dali Lama??? Even more than Mamie Van Doren???
  6. The gerbil? The Gerbil did seem to be on....something, whenever he was on.
  7. Isn't it frustrating to see the Nats play games with Stephen Strasburg??? They never came out and said he wouldn't pitch the 4th, but it sounds like (from what I just read in the Washington Post) he won't til the 8th. Like he needs more seasoning. He can't work on pickoffs, etc without anyone on base. Mike Leak has half his stuff and didn't need a minute in the minors. And does anyone think Strausburg looks "different" on the mound??? I sure hope it's the camera angles in the minors, but it looks like they "fixed" something in his motion. Doesn't look as fluid to me.
  8. the reverse jinx is quite powerful!
  9. Everybody knew Richard Gere stuck a gerbil up his butt too! R.I.P....up to a fer years ago, he was on Larry King quite often.
  10. Must be a semi-interesting story behind what happened to this guy.
  11. It sure is! Did I mention the Braves are back to sucking, and that they are a completely worthless sac of shit team, not worthy of wasting any time watching???
  12. Jamie Moyer is the obvious first guess. I think Omar Vizqel and Junior Griffey are two others. Another great Tribe start by Mitch Talbot, 7IP, 6H, 2ER, 4K, 0BB and the team only needed 2:16 to beat Jake Peavy and the WSox. Talbot, now 6-3, is a rare bright spot on the Indians pitching staff. Very good! I just happened to read something about Vizquel (saying he may retire at the end of the year if he doesn't hit) and saw that he played in 1989. I mentioned this to a friend at dinner, name 2 people that played in the 80's and he mentioned Moyer and Griffey! Oops, forgot about him! I think most folks would think of Griffey and Moyer, but would forget Vizquel. Is there anyone else????
  13. Trivia Time! I came across one player that I didn't realize started playing in the majors in the 80's I know of 3 players that came up in 1989 or earlier. There might be more, who knows? Anyway, any guesses???
  14. You want to hear depressing. Vazquez in the Mariner DH spot would probably be an upgrade over Jr. 2010 Griffey .183/.245/.204 career Vazquez .207/.238/.247 Okay Yankee fans, I think we M's fans have topped ya in the misery dept.! Perhaps the Mariners will put Griffey in Center for old times sake, and he will collide with Bradley, and they both end up on the disabled list! Just trying to cheer you guys up! Well, cheer up...the braves looked to be the worst team in baseball a week or so ago, and have just defeated the Reds 2 days straight, taking a page from their book and coming from behind(well, ok a tie yesterday, but the braves were up 4-0 at one point)both days...Braves down 9-3 in the 9th today, somehow scored 7 to win the game, including an opposite field grand slam by Brooks Conrad off of Reds closer Cordero Check out the video clip to the right and see how Conrad thought the ball was caught, and almost walked off the field! http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=300520115&teams=cincinnati-reds-vs-atlanta-braves

  16. One of the many reasons baseball is the best sport there is! The Worst team in baseball(which the Pirates are not right now, just checked Brewers and Astros have worse records, in their division) can beat the best team, or the best pitcher, on any given night.
  17. The other Paps! You know, the rich one!
  18. Well, all the talent in the world, but I bet a lot of Red Sox fans can't be too sorry they don't have Hanley Ramirez...just not a winner. First, the play he jogged after that allowed a least one runner to score than wouldn't have otherwise. http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=8077975&topic_id=8878534&c_id=fla Now, check out what the idiot said about his manager, and fellow players! http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/marlins/2010/05/18/hanley-ramirez-wont-apologize-to-florida-marlins-teammates-lost-little-bit-of-respect-for-manager/
  19. Well, couldn't watch the 10 PM baseball tonight(Some stoopid game between...I forget who, ran til 11 pm) but saw the late show, and there was a bang-bang play at 1st, slow mo made it look like the Rays player might have been out, but way too close to tell when they showed it in real time. He's the runner who scored the winning run in the 11th. Ghost, Paps is really, really dumb. When he threw his split a fair bit, 2-3 years ago, he was truly unhittable. Only excuse is that throwing it hurts his arm. Plus, instead of throwing 96-98, every hit was on a 92 MPH pitch(one showed 94, but Karl Ravech said under gun showed 92) who can get guys out throwing only 92 fastballs...not named Mariano???
  20. Not as low as his daughter's. Exactly! So, he wasn't arrested, not a serious enough crime??? And what's really sad is they will put this baby back with these two assholes in very short order.
  21. I'd add the Padres to that list. These guys are just playing over their heads. Guess we should add the first-place Reds to that list, too (especially since I seem to have jinxed the Nats) Padres have some amazing pitchers, especially in the bullpen. They just need a bat..or three. Reds have so much young pitching about to blossom , they are probably praying that Harang and Arroyo can get their ERA's at least down into the 4's so they can trade them for something...anything.
  22. Was this on the USA network?? Or was that that other dude?
  23. I figured you would say it was Bush's Fault! I thought of saying Obama has made millions of job's disappear, why not a ring...but I thought better of it.
