  1. I like his BN releases a lot more than his Prestige recordings. Mocha motion! is very disappointing , imho! -_-
  2. Alfred

    Joe Lovano

    Copy protected, I suppose!
  3. It's Prestige/organ time: Mellow soul - Don Patterson Freddie Roach - Mocha motion (not his best!) Jack McDuff - The dynamic Jack McDuff (GOLD label?! /w George Benson on guitar & Benny Golson arrangements)
  4. EUR 24! Not too bad for a sealed OOP Elite Edition! I paid EUR 40 when it was released in 1998.
  5. Nice! Do not see this one much. Picked mine up, about 10 years ago, on a trip to Disneyland. Took a break from family and fun and went to the closest used record store I could find. ← The very fact that it's a double LP release makes it "rare". And it is a live recording too. Two facts with limited selling potential, I guess. But I like this recording a lot.
  6. Live! Shelly Manne & his men at The Manne-Hole (Contemporary 2LP, mono original)
  7. One of my favorite Blue Note sessions. Here is another co-lead:
  8. Excludes previous and online purchases, ...... That makes it a bit difficult to me!
  9. I prefer the $5/CD discounts during these "Mosaic-True Blue-cooperation"-sales. A Classic Records LP for only $24.90!!!
  10. I have lots of Jarrett on ECM - Trio & Solo. I'm sure I do not need more of his music. He's brilliant - no question. But I can't find anything new listening to his latest releases what's not allready sitting on my shelfs! Sorry.
  11. I'm not a big fan of these original JAZZLAND pressings. The pressing qualitiy and the sound is sometimes very disappointing to me. Nevertheless great music was recorded on this label.
  12. Zoot Sims - In Paris (United Artists/Toshiba Reissue) It's my favorite Zoot recording - but that's the topic of another thread!
  13. Bobby Hutcherson – Happenings (Blue Note 4231) Joe Henderson – Page one (Blue Note 4140) Kenny Dorham – Quiet Kenny (New Jazz 8225) Eric Dolphy – Out to lunch (Blue Note 4163) Archie Shepp – Four for Trane (impulse! A-71) John Coltrane – Ballads (impulse! – A-32) Julian Adderley – Somethin' else (Blue Note 1595) Dave Brubeck – Time out (Columbia 8192) Miles Davis –Kind of blue (Columbia 8163) Bill Evans – Portrait in jazz (Riverside 315) Sarah Vaughan – Swingin' easy (EmArcy 36109) Ella Fitzgerald – Ella & Louis (Columbia 4003) Paul Bley – Footloose! – (Savoy 12182) Bob Brookmeyer – Traditionalism revisited (Pacific 1233) Stan Getz – Getz au go go (Verve 8600) Chico Hamilton – The Chico Hamilton Quintet featuring Buddy Colette (Pacific 1209) Andrew Hill – Black fire (Blue Note 4151) Lee Konitz – Motion (Verve 8399) or Inside Hi-Fi (Atlantic 1258) Warne Marsh – Music for prancing (Mode 125) or Symposium (Revelation 17) Gerry Mulligan – The Concert Jazz Band (Verve 8388) Joe Pass – Catch me (Pacific 73) That's enough for the moment!
  14. I have NOT the first pressing.....
  15. Hmm, my cover of numbers 1&2 is white and the background of the painting is orange, not yellow. Are there more versions of this cover available? Same with the labels (blue/white instead of red/purple)?! numbers on eBay
  16. The Thoshiba-EMI reissue of the Something cool LP sounds very good. It's a 1981 mono release! Good pressing quality.
  17. Payment has been made. This is my first organissimo CD.
  18. Maxine Sullivan/Bob Wilber - Close as pages in a book (Monmouth) Buddy DeFranco - Closed session (Verve, JP)
  19. In the current issue of JazzTimes is an article on Ndegeocello and her new record. Not heard it yet. But I'm curious too.
  20. What mikeweil said! Well, I said it from time to time and I say it again: I love my record player!
  21. John William Hardy and Jon Horwich are responsible for so many great recording sessions. They recorded Dennis Budimir, Frank Foster, Warne Marsh (Ne plus ultra), Clare Fischer or Frank Strazzeri, among others. This music deserved to be reissued as a Mosaic - would be a great set. What about a tiny little SELECT with some highlights of this excellent label?!
  22. This is a bit strange to me. Not long after the Retrospective box, Blue Note will release 3 more single CDs with funk oriented stuff. Grant Green is one of the "most in print" BN artitsts, I guess. Street date for Europe is Mai 23th. I definitely not need these sampler. But the cover design is cool! B-)
  23. Every KING or even Toshiba-EMI LP Reissue (except the latest BN 65 anniversary - which is a CD on vinyl!!!) sounds better than the next XX-bit CD re-re-re-release. I'm veeeeeeeeery happy with my still growing LP-collection. Anyone interested in JRVG's, TOCJ's, TOCJ24's, McMaster, .........?!
  24. Nathan Davis - Happy girl These Nathan Davis SABA LPs are going very well on eBay ...
