Mosaic: rumored/possible/in-the-works/suggested
Alfred replied to ghost of miles's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
How about a Mosaic set covering the seven ATLANTIC LP series "Southern Folk Heritage"? Sounds of the south (1346) Blue ridge mountain music (1347) Roots of the blues (1348) White spirituals (1349) American folk songs for children (1350) (?) Negro church music (1351) The blues roll on (1352) -
It is a nice set ... BUT this album is not included: This is my favorite one w/ Wilson arrangements. This means that you also need the Carmell Jones Mosaic Select! -_-

Thanks Reinier. Good news!!!

STAN GETZ: The still in print 3CD set Stan Getz - the complete ROOST recordings" covers most of the material. DON CHERRY: Complete communion is the only album which is available at the moment. Symphony for improvisors was released as a Connoisseur but it is OOP. A RVG release is planned for summer 2005 (that is what Blue Note means with "limited edition" -_- ). Where is Brooklyn? will be released as a Conn in October. IKE QUEBEC: The complete 45 sessions will be released as a 2CD set later this year.

No changes made on international rates!

You can't compare Magic meeting with his last recordings. It's his first trio recording in years. I agree with you in that his last CD's are a bit "boring". This one is great!
-
This artistShare release is pure ... magic. It can't be found in any store, must be ordered via artistShare.com. The price for this CD (and s&h to Europe!) is a bit high but nothing more can be said against this CD. This live session was recorded at the Village Vanguard. Hall played in a trio format together with Scott Colley and Lewis Nash. It's a very relaxed session, superb soloing and the sound quality is excellent.

Mosaic: rumored/possible/in-the-works/suggested
Alfred replied to ghost of miles's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Really?! It would be a hugh set - 7 or 8 CDs at least. -
The Do-Re-Mi tracks are not part of the Kenton presents Mosaic (MD4-185). Only the non-vocal tracks w/ Cooper are included. Nice stuff!
-
For me this set is overrated. I sold mine on eBay two years ago. With the two single discs the best material of this set is available. Hands off!
-
I can't read this thread here ......... hmmmm?!!!

As far as I know this box is out of print. It's on eBay from time to time. Maybe half.com is a good source.
