I have this set ... or not ??? Let's have a look. Ahhhh ... yes, it's on the shelf. Harry James is the part of this set I like but I play them not very often. Did I listen to this box in 2004??? Don't think so. This box is not a must have! IMHO!!!

Never heard of Danny Small before when I bought this Lp on eBay. Nice LP! And this recording is excellent! Chuck Wayne is a very underrated guitar player.

Hmmm, that was exactly the opinion I have heard from others and the reason why I had left the record where it was.

Yesterday I found a impulse! LP in a local record shop. The LP with thick original cover and vinyl has not the original impulse! label but a black SPARTON label (Made in London, Canada). Do you know these releases? What about the sound quality? Thanks.

Good point. Chet is another example. Peterson's 'London house' and 'Schwarzwald/MPS' sessions are great! I also love the 1954 Harold Arlen Songbook w/ Herb Ellis & Ray Brown.
