  1. Hank Crawford will be glad to know his album is similar to this !
  2. Thanks AB, your's is on the way in the next day or so! Damn, you guys are BAD!!! Ah, what the hell, here's one more! Mark
  3. couw, I showed Fathead the actual photograph that you did your "thing" on. I told him my better half thought he looked menacing and he just laughed. He's the nicest guy in person, I gave him the photograph and had him sign one for me. Dan, sorry to hijack the thread but I just learned how to post photographs, so I've gone a little crazy . Mark
  4. ....and that's all for today!
  5. Couw, Man, that is so cool!!! I have a ton of jazz photographs; I wish I could do that thing you do!!!!.......damn, that's cool!!!! Mark
  6. I agree, I saw him recently and he has a few copies of this disc for sell prior to the release date. He also play 2 or 3 tunes from it during the show. Here's a photograph I made at the show. Mark
  7. 70 and overcast in Indy, rain tomorrow. It was 85 and sunny all weekend though!
  8. You've got mail!!! re: Thad Jones
  9. Well the asshole that scammed me (and countless others) has been suspended by ebay. I had emails from about 5 other buyers about this guy; everyone filed negative feedback and sent notes to both ebay and paypal. I have e-mailed this loser about 100 times (with no responses), I'm sure he's probably sick of it by now. I will probably never see my money again, but at least the guy (piasano00 a.k.a. Andrew Pope in NY) is gone for now.
  10. I've also been to the FFC winery a few times, very nice and great wines. His vineyard is beautiful, there was a story on the history of the winery on the Travel channel about an hour ago, very interesting! Mark
  11. This one? If yes then......yes. you're scary! Well.......I hope this one--despite my stocking cap--is less "scary". This is me at the Royals game on Saturday. (We won in extra innings, by the way. And I ate a jumbo hot dog.) Brandon, I will be in attendance at the June 4 game vs. the Red Sox, any chance you'll be there??? Mark
  12. I have never used an avitar until this week . It's a photograph I made of Lou Donaldson a few years back. Now that I know how to change them, I will make changes now and then. Mark
  13. I won't be appearing on the Jazz Central Stage, Blues and Roots Stage, or Jazz Heritage Stage, but you will find me in the 'Long Island Tea' line. Next year when Organissimo appears, it will be a party. Rachel, I'll meet you in line !!! Mark
  14. Drummer, Killer Ray Appleton will be part of the "Tribute to Jimmy Coe" performance .
  15. montg, Sorry for your dissapointment; I have yet to see any festival that is 100% inspiring but most are still very enjoyable and worth the time and money to see! I've been to Monterey before and sometimes felt the line-up was lacking only to be pleasently surprised when it was all said and done. They try to make these festivals appeal to a large audience. If I had my way (I don't), it would be nothing but hardbop. I did supply them with a list longer than my arm of musicians I would like to see perform. Unfortunately, there are many people involved in this process and everyone has their idea of who they would like to see. Of course, I think only my opinion counts !!! It's a work in progress but I think they will always try to appeal to a mass audience as there are many things to consider with putting together something of this nature. That said, I certainly think it's worth a 3 hour drive and $15.00. I go to Chicago 2-3 times per month for shows at the Jazz Showcase (3 hours now feels like 30 minutes) but maybe I'm a little strange; I've been told this before. Sorry you won't make it, as it's a great event. This is also the weekend of the U.S. Grand Prix. Joe G, B-3er is sending me your promotional package!!! Regards, Mark
  16. I'm sure board members Rachel will more than likely make an appearance as will Ghost of Miles; a good time will be had by all!!! Conn & Sal, you're not too far away???
  17. I went to a party last night for the announcement of artists for the 2004 Indy Jazz Festival which will be held over Father's Day Weekend. The Blind Boys of Alabama ~Jazz Central Stage No Regrets Hot Club of Naptown Neopolitan Greg Bacon EN2 The Jazz Heritage and Blue/Roots stage are the main stages with the Jazz Central stage being a smaller structure under a large tent. The festival has tons of food/drink/merchants for all tastes. The cost of the festival is $15.00 per day (cheap INO) but $25.00 day of the show. If anyone has any additional questions about the festival, you can log onto their site at www.indyjazzfest.net. I also do a lot of work for the festival and have a relationship with the organizers, so I may be able to answer some. Indy's a nice, clean safe, relatively cheap accomodations if anyone is thinking of making the trip. It would be good to see some of you there. No Organissimo but I'll have to apply a little "pressure" on the organizers for 2005!!! Mark
  18. I just got home from a party announcing the artist for the 2004 Indy Jazz fest and I have three e-mails from other Ebay members telling me they've been scammed also. I told them to keep writing paypal and ebay and to bombard the asshole with daily emails.....now how long's the drive to Watertown, NY . By the way: Buddy Guy John Scofield Brad Meldauh (sp) Nancy Wilson/Ramsey Lewis Pancho Sanchez Issac Hayes Blind Boys of Alabama and a cast of 1000's coming to the Indy Jazz Fest over Father's Day weekend!!! www.indyjazzfest.net
