  1. I just find out about this when they're stopping it. Just my luck.
  2. Ksenia Solo works for me! So she plays an android?
  3. It's extremely pretentious, no doubt about it, but boring? Well, you've got to be in the mood for it, sure, but for the most part...NO, actually. The few parts I found a little tedious on the first viewing I rather got into on the second and began to downright like on the third.
  4. One of my favorite spy/conspiracy films of the 70's. "He will smile---a becoming smile." "You can take a walk, but how far if they don't print it?" Awesome movie. Plus, it was my introduction to Max Von Sydow who became a favorite. He's great in that movie; one of his best performances. Remarkable, too, how many high-quality, adult-oriented, stylish genre films they made in the early-to-mid-70's, that are still entertaining now. This, "Chinatown," "Charley Varrick," "The Hot Rock," "The Parallax View," the original "Taking of Pelham One Two Three," among quite a few others.
  5. I saw it in the theater three times. One of the more successful "recent" Malick films, as far as I'm concerned.
  6. The "American Idol" approach to vocals.
  7. Don't feel bad; an article I read about new TV shows listed it as a bit of a failure.

  9. If forgetting is crucial to good thinking, then I must be a great thinker.
  10. I'm still holding out for jungles, swamps, and dinosaur-like fauna. Not holding my breath though.
  11. I'm pretty much with you on this one, Kevin. In hindsight it's clear he probably should have called the cops first, the administration second. But I'd say he's more at peace now than in the last few months of his life.
  12. I also very recently read "Tinker, Tailor-" after watching the movie and re-watching the Alec Guiness BBC miniseries. Didn't really have any problem with the book, but there was a small scene in the miniseries that simply didn't appear in the book at all. That was a bit of a surprise.
  13. Absolutely! I said to Hisako, wow they've ripped off the Vertigo opening. It's enough to give you conceptual vertigo.
  14. I also enjoyed "Moneyball" a lot. Better than I expected, which is always nice.
  15. I hope they somehow bring Coop back.
  16. I enjoyed the first "Hangover." But I heard so much carping about the sequel that I decided to give it a miss. For $11.50 there were plenty of other movies to see.
  17. Frankly, the mansion she tore down was pretty damn ugly. I'm reserving judgement til I see what the replacement looks like.
  18. Am I the only one who thinks this guy looks way too young for Sherlock Holmes?
  19. *HIC*.....in'rshting ndeed.
  20. Same way one can forget a copy of The New Yorker on the bus...goddamn, that was $6.50!! I'm so mad at myself!
  21. My wife and I are addicted to this show.
  22. What kind of meal can he get for the voucher?
  23. He does look thinner than before... Hope he'll be okay.
