  1. I think you mean I'll be buying this.
  2. On Vibes---Victor Feldman (or rather, it just came in the mail.)
  3. Yes indeed.
  4. I don't know why they didn't keep the original name, "Involution," though. I prefer it to Changes.
  5. Can't believe that all these North American libraries stock Mosaics. Shouldn't be allowed ! Just the better ones. And there's that whole "library" thing of having to return it by a certain time... But at least I'll get a far better idea of it than from the snippets you can download from the Mosaic site.
  6. I've just ordered the complete Verve/Clef Basie!! ...From my local library, that is. They put it on hold for me and say it will probably come in about three weeks from now.
  7. That Verve 2-CD set mentioned earlier is great! It's actually got three albums on it, so it's one of those 3-fer-two deals...and one of the albums has Dizzy Gillespie on it. I've seen it around used and I can't say enough good things about it. Great place to start with Stuff.
  8. Taking my kid out to his favorite restaurant for his 12th birthday (well, ONE of his favorites.) Then we're going to have some cake and ice cream.
  9. Double Nickels On the Dime, on CD. I've had the thing on vinyl since it came out, lo these many years ago, but I've been thinking about getting it on CD lately. Finally took the plunge. Pretty soon I'll have just about all my favorite punk music on CD.
  10. Bob Beausoleil, really? I went to college with him. Or someone with the same name.
  11. What, you mean Van Morrison isn't from New Orleans? Actually, the Sacramento Jazz Fest is full of good ol' New Orleans jazz, to the point of almost making you want to scream at times.
  12. No big surprise here: Had to get Traffic and Weather, the new Fountains of Wayne album, the minute the store opened.
  13. That's the only Tony Williams album on Blue Note that's not out on CD yet, right? I'm a bit saddened that Louis Smith's Smithville did not make the final list after all. Maybe next time. I really like "Here Comes Louis Smith", the band on Smithville is great and even though it's already out in Japan there are two leftover tracks from that session that should be on the Connoisseur disc. Agreed. I too am a fan of Here Comes Louis Smith, and would love to see Smithville re-issued domesticly, RVG or Conn.
  14. Frankly, sometimes I don't want my boundaries stretched.
  15. Aren't you confusing the Newport 1956 Sony 2CD-set with the Newport 1958 Mosaic Single? Yes, no doubt. My bad.
  16. What, no Banks? I should get that 30th Anniversary edition of Asimov's. Trouble is, the store where I used to pick up occasional copies of Asimov's and F & SF doesn't carry them anymore! All of a sudden they only have Analog.
  17. If she decides to be a cobra, look out!
  18. Hey, that's the guy I interviewed for this show. He teaches here at IU; quite a jazz fan. Wow, I'm liking this guy more all the time.
  19. This reminds me that toddler leashes are REAL.
  20. ...Then there's Jim Hall.
  21. If you're getting more into jazz guitar, have you checked out Kenny Burrell? I love him.
  22. I've long been intending to get the Farlow as soon as $$$ will allow.
