  1. That's kinda lame.
  2. Gotta say, I'm in total agreement with you there. It's long puzzled me that Leave It To Be Beaver should take so long to reach DVD. It has to be one of the best-remembered sitcoms of that era, arguably second only to I Love Lucy in name recognition. Another plus: 39 (!!!!!) episodes in the first season. They really cranked 'em out back then. I'm like you; never seen an episode of HGWT, very curious about it. I'm also a little curious about Peter Gunn, but that's due in good part to the music.
  3. Me want. I have three Treniers compilations and yet this one is still calling to me. As to why they were working the room so hard, I think that's just the way they normally worked. From what I gather, these guys were just flat-out insane (in a good way), enjoyed being insane, and communicated that insanity to their audience.
  4. He could pull it off, if anyone could.
  5. But I don't like football!!! Heh, me neither. I think it's a time when we should rediscover some of the screwball comedies and film noirs we have to be thankful for.
  6. Stuffing w/o the turkey is one of those reasons to be thankful we live in the modern era. Not quite "eradification of smallpox" level, but there nonetheless.
  7. How about: "Mighty Jack Black"?
  8. No. I am not (did not) go. A 75%-off sale at Amoeba might have roused me from the apartment, but nothing less.
  9. That's my favorite quote. The man had some wit, that's for sure.
  10. So the answer to my question is: February, 06! Thanks Bluerein!
  11. Well alright then.
  12. If at first you don't succeed.....
  13. Well, the new remake is by Peter Jackson, and after what he did with the Lord of the Rings trilogy people are understandably curious. Me, I still have yet to see any of the LOTR films. What's next? Is he going to remake Frankenstein?
  14. Some people are SO lucky.
  15. What is it about? Some sort of undersea show?
  16. Yes, nothing against Jessica Lange, but the mid-70's remake was truly terrible.
  17. Those of us on a tighter budget care! I do have the original CD. ← I have the original cd too, as well as the original of "Another Workout". It would be nice to have them reissued though! Good music! Same here. I couldn't agree more.
  18. They DIDN'T locate the original spider footage? Than what did they do, CGI a sequence the way they think it MIGHT have looked? That ain't right. The new King Kong coming to theaters is apparently set back in the time of the original (the early thirties.) That's one thing they did right, but really, what's the point? I don't see the need to remake this film.
  19. The sun and high temperatures just keep on coming. Real global warming weather. Spooky.
  20. Have the folks at Blue Note forgotten about this album? Only one of Hank's best.
  21. To be honest, I'm kind of cheered by the fact that he lived so long. He's one of those figures that I vaguely suspected of having already passed away some years ago. Will have to dig out and dust off my Charley compilation of his stuff. RIP Link.
  22. The crucial thing is that they rhyme the words "fun" and "sun"------the germination of surf music.
  23. Care to rephrase that? I know what you mean, but it might be open to a less than savory interpretation.
  24. If I recall, it was a single LP from England that was a reissue of "CH Encounters BW". The 2-fer that combines this session with Associates was called "Tenor Giants", I believe. ← That's correct Jack, I have a of copy Blue Saxophones on LP. ← I wish I did.
