I love this set. Since it came out, people have been dumping their lp copies!
-
I don't remember any either. If this Walls-Bridges contains extra material it would be the first time that I know of. However, it was never on lp or cassette.

Looks like they are playing "I got a secret". The owner of my local store of stores, Integrity N' Music, has been telling me that North Country will be picking up Black Saint/Soul Note in/around October. In fact look at the website!! right here!! Looks like it has happened already. Call Slim for details. Walls-Bridges was originally one cd. Maybe there was a 2nd set? It was recorded at University Of Mass, Amherst. I believe in the liner notes to Mal Waldron's The Git Go:Live at the Village Vanguard, there is mention of enough material for 5 or 6 more cd's(or was it 5 or 6 more hours?). Or I could have it heard that from someone who knows, can't remember.

Haven't heard of that one before. Interesting. There are a lot of people who swear that Radio Shack's $50 or so(rechargeable batteries knock the price up) phono preamp does a great job. It's affectionately called the Little Rat and has been the subject of much discussion at Audio Asylum's Vinyl Asylum.

I think cd's will be around for a long time as well but I also know people who just get a seperate computer for mp3's and download everything. Not sure how they play them but I know a few just have their computer speakers and are happy with that. I see this a logical next step for a lot of people. Maybe not a seperate computer but a seperate hard drive with just music files. That said, the true fanatics will continue to buy cd's.

Look again. Pay particular attention to original pressings. Blue Note,Prestige, Riverside, Contemporary, Tampa, Decca SXL WB, Living Stereo, London FFSS BlueBack. But if you are referring to Mosaic lp vs cd prices, it is true that a lot of times the cd sets can go for a lot more. I seem to remember a Count Basie lp set going for less than half of what the cd set went for. In fact, for the price of the cd set, the buyer could have bought the l pset and a decent turntable.

the Music Halls are good tables. Try and get one from Audiogon.com. Bound to save a lot of money. I would also look into the best cart's for the table you are getting. Lots of Rega tables at Audiogon as well. No way in hell would I buy a brand new table. Pick one up from someone who is upgrading. Or sometimes you'll see one for sale because the owner just couldn't get into vinyl. Treat your records right and they will always play nice and quiet. Some things will have 0 surface noise, some very light surface noise others may have more if there are some bad scracthes or it may be in the pressing. The majority will sound very nice. A good setup will do wonders. Different tonearms and cartridges will perform better than others. I don't know how many times my wife has walked into the room only to be shocked that I was listening to a record. On my mom's last visit here, we listened to records for a few days and after the first session she commented that she had forgotten how great vinyl sounds. And she can name those standards! Also, where do you live? Finding a good used vinyl source is key.

Keep the lp sets. There's a 9 min Epistrophy with Enrico Rava that does not appear on the cd's. And who said cd's always have more material?

Go to the forum on bidding. This might not be illegal for the seller to do this. http://forums.ebay.com/db1/forum.jsp?forum=110 -
Many have the said the same about jazz.

Reflections is always found for cheap on lp. Mission in the Rain, baby

No problem. Take a peek at the lp new arrivals bin as well. Lots of intake lately.

Kevin, Did you call Integrity to reserve the ones you are interested in? These are flying out the door since it is known that the ice cream man has been told not come around anymore. Just wanted to add that it's the "in demand" titles that are disappearing quick. Still plenty of Night Of The Cookers.....

Off since I have tube gear.

I hear Cuscuna called one of the US distributors and told him to stop importing them. He wasn't too excited. Apparently these were not supposed to be sold in the US. I opened two of these that I bought for a friend and they had a lot of TOCJ markings. Both the cd and the front booklet. I just opened the copy of Chick Corea's Early Circle that I bought and it does not have any TOCJ marking's. Liners mention Malcolm Addey for the remaster.

My local has a lot of these if anyone is interested. He has them @ 9.99
-
just for clarity, I don't see a problem.

Oui! -
Peter Pfister always captures the sound of the piano.

Live Recordings MR4 113 Records are NM. Box is also in great shape and the booklet is almost perfect except for a few marks on the cover. Looking to get an OOP Mosaic lp set for this. Nothing else. wooferlo@yahoo.com
