  1. You know right at the end after the credits where a plate of food is put on a table? That piano riff sounds exactly like Back Home Blues by Charles Mingus on the Mingus 3 album.
  2. I hope this box is the last one. I think I have enough Miles to the rest of my life. Is there anyone here who's been buying these since the Plugged Nickel in 1995? 12 years is just too long to wait for all of these.
  3. GRADY!!! YOU BIG DUMMY!
  4. My wife & I are going on a vacation there April 10-15th. We are seriously thinking of moving there from Connecticut. We feel very tired of New England, even though we do love aspects of it, there feels like a discouraging mindset where we have lived (Worcester, MA/Providence, RI/Cromwell, CT). We're also looking to change our careers and mindsets also. Where could we look for an apartment?
  5. I wouldn't be surprised if just from seeing this thread that I pull out End Of The Century and watch it again. I had heard that reissues of Animal Boy, Halfway To Sanity & Brain Drain were coming out this year. I got that info directly from Marky Ramone who's email was on the official Ramones site. He said 2006. I hope so.
  6. I forgot about Hey Jude! Hollywood Bowl would be good to put in there also. Y'know what one I always liked was the Star Club 1962. Some fiery performances on some songs. Red Sails In The Sunset Ain't Nothing Shakin' But The Leaves On A Tree Be-Bop-A-Lula and my favorite: Talkin' 'Bout You. The Stones version pales compared to this one.
  7. That means the next one will be just Yesterday...& Today and Revolver. After that they were the same as the British version. April 10th - 36 years since The Beatles broke up.
  8. We have Blue Notes feelings about Norah Jones to thank for this board becoming the place to go, don't we?
  9. The box should be called Beyond The Corner.
  10. This topic needs some more pages. I need to know how much the new live double cd is.
  11. Is it that piece on the Davis/Evans box from 1968? I forget the name. Falling Water???
  12. Hey impossible, I saw that set also! I'd heard from someone else staying at the same place we were staying that a person infront of them said Ornette's music sounded like "mice scurrying across a floor". I agree because the image fits with the music which I like.
  13. I read a post from someone who has variations and said it's pretty much the same, but sounds more recent. I think it will be hard to like. I think it's a misstep in the discography. A few people are speaking up about the sameiness of the recent albums. I'm glad to see it even though I've grown to actually enjoy these albums, but it takes a lot of work.
  14. I went throught the same thing with Rahsaan Rahsaan. I called up the Collectables label and they actually said, that was how it came to them. I ended up hunting down the 4 cd set that album is a part of.
  15. The writers have said they left it open whether the family understands Stewie or not, but they evedentally understand Brain...HE'S A DOG! He even drives a car and Lois will ask Brian to take care of Stewie will they go on a trip!
  16. To really complete the whole Coltrane picture, all those studio sessions from 1966 & 1967 need to be released.
  17. Got mine yesterday from Integrity 'N Music in Wethersfield, CT. In speaking with Integrity Ed about the set, he had spoke to John Szwed, author of So What, and heard that a son of Miles has complete control over all future releases. I mentioned Vincent Walburn's name & Ed said it was the son & Vincent who held up this set and the fact that Adam Holtzman wrote some notes for this set. Holtzman's notes are in there so I don't know how that was settled or how this will affect, if at all, the proposed future set of mid-70's material.
  18. HOLY CRAP! Big thanks to rostasi for finding one on line & so freakin' fast!
  19. Or does anyone know where I can download or order one? Thanks.
  20. Ooh, thanks Jim. I'll troll around the internet & see what's there.
  21. Thanks for the input everyone. What I'm recording is a garage band really with myself on drums so it's just guitar, bass, drums playing at once. I have a mic on each which give me enough seperation where I can fiddle with the EQ on each. The spillage is not a concern really. I would've liked to put at least 2 mics on the drums. Anyway, one track is left for vocals & guitar leads. We just experimentaed with it last night and it's being used for a demo for shows really, but I'm thinking we will eventually record an album this way. Were happy with the sound, I'm just trying to think of a way to free up another track without bouncing since the volume drop is too much for our liking. I'm now thinking maybe the band should record onto 2 tracks instead.
  22. From the pictures I've seen, it looks like the same box design as the other Legacy reissues. So does it have a number 8 on the spine?
  23. I've got a Tascam 424 4 track. It works great & am very happy with it, but I'd like to have 8 tracks of space. I looked at the Tascam 488 8 track, but the only thing that bugs me about it is it only has 4 XLR inputs meaning I could only record 4 tracks at a time. My 4 track also has 4. What I want to do is be able to have 5 or 6 tracks recording at the same time so here's my question: What would be best: Get a Tascam 488 8 track? or Get another Tascam 424 and hook then up together so I can have up to 8 tracks recording at once? (And is this even possible?) I'm not too knowledgable on recording lingo so please dumb it down a bit. Thanks.
  24. I remember seeing the song time for There's A Riot Goin' On as 0:00. Did I see that correctly & if so, is there as song there or maybe just silence?
  25. I will eventually get both Nuggets comps (not Son of Nuggets though). Anyone know of a better price than $40-45 by chance?
