  1. How about updating the schedule now...
  2. The first was the most tasteful...
  3. Poor Riddick Bowe. This type of comeback represents the ugly side of boxing. The money is so good that washed up fighters continue their "careers" instead of trying to learn another trade. It's like trying to get a drug dealer get a regular job. The pay difference is risible.
  4. Happy Birthday to a good guy!!
  5. Worth it for the cover alone... B-)
  6. Not based on their preseason games so far...
  7. I didn't vote. My first response was that no adult would eat either product. But then those creative applications... Sounds pretty good!
  8. Didn't notice this thread until it stretched to three pages. The first person who came to mind was Jackie Mac, as Wesbed first stated. I think Stanley T is instantly recognizable as well. Everyone can recognize Blakey on drums. How about Pepper Adams on bari? I think he's pretty recognizable. Jim Hall is easily recognizable on guitar as is John Patton on organ. Lester Young...of course! Wayne Shorter on tenor (when he doesn't sound like Trane!)
  9. Great story, Tom! (BTW, welcome to the board... ) Those early trio sides are great for sure. I really like "Ahmad's Blues" issued on Chess (cause I play chess! ) No, because it's a great cd. However, I think the three Essence cds in the 80s (90s?) are terrific as well. There's one tune on Essence 1 called "Catalina," I think. It pretty much encapsulates the philosophy of my life in a single tune.
  10. They say that people in the Boston area have a chip on their shoulder regarding their sports teams, but I don't really have one. Does it really come across that way? Damn, the team has had tremendous success over the last few years. Nothing for me to be uptight about... Sorry Chris... and Rachel...
  11. I brought this up once on the BNBB and got a few responses. Wouldn't hurt to ask again... Anyone else a big fan of "Love in Exile?" Damn! Joe Bonner wrote some beautiful music and the band was on for sure!
  12. Would it surprise you guys to know that I read the Patriot's website every day? I get to read articles from the local press through their links. Everyone is really positive about the season, but then I guess this probably occurs in all the camps. Watch for a couple of newly-converted linebackers this season: Dan Klecko and Tully Banta-Cain. These two will replace the aging Roman Pfifer, Ted Johnson; and will help us to forget the horrible injury to Roosevelt Colvin. Terrell Buckley will have a great comeback year in the secondary. Troy Brown will take some plays at cornerback. Mike Vrabel will be at tight end on some plays. Dan Klecko will serve as fullback on some plays as well. All eyes are on Corey Dillon, while Kevin Faulk will continue to make big plays. It's hard to keep up with the fertile mind of Bill Belichick.
  13. The Pats are more than just Corey Dillon, Chris. Their defence will always be their strength. Rachel: Bill Belichick has always established terrific pass protection. I'm sure the defensive backs will adjust to the new rules, though there will be tons of penalties early on. Tony Dungy and Mike Martz are both on the rules committee and did their best to try to slow down the New England juggernaut. I don't think it will be a big deal by the end of the season. It's hard to repeat, but they've got a great chance. Again, we are asked to pick a champion here before the season starts. I pick them. And you, Rachel? B-)
  14. It's tough to repeat, but I'm going for my team New England to take the trophy once again. On paper, they are stronger than last year. Look out league!!
  15. Congrats Randy! Man, that's some awesome stuff. I'm into chess tournaments myself, but am no way ranked as high as you comparatively. I'm the highest rated active player in the Toledo area, but I rank nowhere on a national level. I'm impressed!
  16. Poor ss1! Bad luck acts like a kind of magnet to attract more bad luck. Dental insurance is more important to me than medical insurance. Less costly too. Damn, I never enjoy visiting the dentist, but we all need to. B-3er: I skipped the dentist for a decade while I was living in Thailand. Paid for it later... Those regular six month checkups become important when you get to my age and the gums are ready to go...
  17. They don't really bother me, though I can't quite claim to look forward to receiving them. I never look at them either; just lety the nurse or doctor do their thing in peace. Dental injections are even milder unless they hit a nerve. That happened to me once and I felt it for weeks afterwards... Ouch!!!
  18. Do you ever work? Have fun!!
  19. I've bought four or five, and he's honest and reliable.
  20. I love that disc! Me too; it's an extra... Good luck selling your extra. So which tune off this disc is your favorite? For me, it's the last track "Blue Fable", I could (and do) listen to this one over and over again! Kind of a cop out, but it's hard to pick a favorite track. I really like the way Jackie comes out charging on the second track. Don't know the title offhand...
