  1. Just as well I lost it in the last week; I'd have gone with the Bengals this time; I figured the Texans were pretty much shot.
  2. I might risk doing it without my fez on for that...
  3. I moved to Louisiana from Iowa (lifelong resident) two & a half years ago. I remain to this day rather ... unenthused. Maybe I'm just a grump and a creature of habit, but let's just say I don't have much to contribute. My wife and I split our lives in New Orleans for two months while our child was hospitalized and it is indeed a pretty great place. Unfortunately we just haven't had the chance to go back yet. But I will say it's one thing to visit this place and a whoooole other thing to live here day in and out. Frankly, it's fucked. You have my sympathy. I think I lasted two years, if I'm remembering right.
  4. The Pink Panther Red Grange Scarlet Johannson
  5. The only problem with driving to New Orleans is that you have to go through Louisiana to get there...
  6. Interesting. This will definitely shake things up, but I'm not sure it'll be in a way that people will like. I'll bet there's a lot of channels out there that wouldn't get enough support to survive in this system, for one thing. I'm also curious how much individual channels will cost. I'll bet most people will either have to give up some channels they enjoy occasionally, or will end up paying more each month for TV.
  7. That's okay; I like young stuff.
  8. Droopy Lassie Rex, the Wonder Dog
  9. I think it was more the collapse in the second half of the season than the overall record that got Smith.
  10. Living in small town in the middle of nowhere means that most of these movies I've never heard of, except here. Only caught two this year, Avengers and Skyfall. Neither of which were classics by any stretch, but on the other hand, they weren't total shit either.
  11. Damn. You mean if I hadn't lost faith in the Bengals like a chump, I could still be playing? That sucks!
  12. Never heard of her, but from the photo in the article, she looks like she should have been on the cover of Bowie's Pin-ups...
  13. Eyegore Sgt. Orville Stanley Slacker Digby Geste
  14. Archibald Ives Virgil Hilts Big X
  15. And now I know how it feels to be a Cowboys fan and have your season's hopes and dreams pinned to the back of Tony Romo... I was hoping for a 'worst to first' finish, but I'll settle for finally ending the season out of the cellar. Congrats to uh...which one of you two won, anyway?
  16. Groucho Marx Crabby Appleton The Grinch
  17. Excellent. Not so much Rogue, but I'd hate for you guys to miss out on Deschutes!
  18. Yeah. I know I'm getting old; the bumping of long-dead threads is more enjoyable than the new ones...
  19. You know, it's odd how the move to Oregon has affected my beer thinking. I was sitting here enjoying a nice bottle of Dead Guy Ale, thinking that's pretty common, or surely my favorite, Black Butte Porter from DeSchutes Brewery is well-known, but after poking around on the internet, I'm wondering, is this stuff available everywhere, or is it still at the level of 'local brews'?
  20. I don't know about that, but I'm pretty sure that Coors Light is one of the top bottled waters in this country...
  21. Yep, some serious kid memories are wrapped up in that show and his work.
  22. Bet it never comes to the theater here. I'll have to wait for DVD release.
