  1. I like the video, because it let's me see these guys playing in the '60s. Before Vol. 1, I didn't see much or any Miles from that time.
  2. Miles Davis Quintet November 3, 1969 at the Salle Pleyel in Paris France video. This is the band with Wayne, Corea, Holland and DeJohnette.
  3. The Berlin Saxophone Quartet - Renaissance. what the title says: renaissance music....and it was good and they lived happily ever after.
  4. I know it's like that in NY, probably not uncommon elsewhere.
  5. Sad news, I thought we'd heard the last of it a few weeks ago. She had a relapse and it killed her. Seems like her family didn't want the world to know she slipped.
  6. Two albums I still go back to, but not the Big Gundown.
  7. Bill Frisell. It was on a "big" label and thus the hype.
  8. I always thought Spy Vs. Spy was a blast, a lot of fun.
  9. Now that's it's been refretted, I'm thinking about switching the humbucker back to a single coil. A previous owner installed the humbucker, I would need to replace the pickguard as well. I'm not in much of a hurry to do this, it took me six years to get the re-fret!
  10. plus...I'd have to invest the time into getting rid of them. My day job takes up way too much time. I play my two Teles, a '52 reissue and a newly refretted '96 MIJ thinline with a S.Duncan humbucker in the neck. Still getting used to the big new frets on the thinline. ...plus a Godin classical that I bought last Winter and of course the microtonal guitar.
  11. There's a couple that I'd like to get rid of just to make room in my apt, I'm worried I'll never get enough money out of them....I never use them.
  12. . ..............Or in other words, there's a mobile version of this forum you can use right now. I am.
  13. On my Blackberry, I go to this forum in my internet browser and change the format of the page from IP.Board to IP.Board.Mobile (look at the bottom of this page). It was kinda buggy, but it works like a charm now.
  14. I think so too, I just bought this a few days ago. When the CD is done playing, I find myself wanting more.
  15. I'm really thrilled to discover Masabumi playing on Paul Motian's Live at the Village Vanguard 2 & 3. Now I'll have to get vol.1. I've never heard of this guy before.
  16. I hear ya. Though it's an important component for him. you find a higher power of your own conception, don't worry about their's. ignore them if they get obnoxious.

    Mat Maneri

got it last weekend, two listens in and I love it. I also got Trinity, a solo album on ECM...perfect for that label and a bunch of others I'll get into later. Still crazy about So What?
  18. He invented the Internet.
  19. Julian Bream - Baroque Guitar Another recent buy, an apparently a classic recording. Still checking it out, the price was right, liner notes would have been nice.
  20. you guys are tough critics. new one:
  21. Villa-lobos - Complete Solo Guitar Music Fabio Zanon, gtr I know this is part of the classical guitar cannon, but I'm learning and excited about checking it all out. I was looking for his string quartets, but thought I should check this out. edit: and I'm really enjoying it a lot.
  22. There's a pile here, but I just bought them yesterday.
  23. That pretty much nails it. I'd like to think there's more that will see the light of day.
  24. They usually do!
