  1. That is a pretty sad story. Sometimes the right people don’t get the credit. I’m intrigued by the statement about Andy Zak working on an unadulterated box. I wonder if the writer of the piece was referring to the one that just came out or another one. If the latter, I can’t imagine we need another box so soon after the Rhino box.
  2. The Times has a Woodstock at 50 page, with several articles. Looks like a couple of new ones were added today. Woodstock at 50
  3. I have the first one (wasn't aware of the second) and although I haven't listened to it in a few years, I thought the sound was fine. To me, this is a box everyone should have. Some outstanding music: understatement!
  4. Besides the Creedence one, there is also one by the Band. Steve Hoffmann lists other artists whose performances have come out, https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/woodstock-sets-released-by-individual-acts.867290/
  5. PBS on their American Experience program showed a 90 or so minutes special on Woodstock this week. It was pretty amazing, with the logistics of pulling it off, people working together to keep it going, the townspeople helping out with food when it ran out, and so forth. Glad I was around during those times.
  6. The record or the acid? Or both??
  7. Probably the 2 Cd for me. I would have liked to have seen the producers do their treatment on Revolver first.
  8. Thanks. Just ordered it from Walmart, which has it around $110. The 38 CD set -- not that I would have bought that -- is sold out and looks like it's fetching high prices on eBay, around $1,600 or so.
  9. How was it? I noticed that Amazon’s indicating one to two month delivery, which I don’t understand.
  10. From JazzTimes, a month ago. The Perfect Fourth of July Jazz Record
  11. I’d also recommend Sean McMeekin’s July 1914.
  12. The Clark book is pretty good. If you haven’t read it, I also recommend Margaret Macmillan’s The War That Ended Peace.
  13. Lonnie Smith Live at Club Mozambique Gerry Mulligan Meets Stan Getz - DCC Gold Disc Guy Laffite His Tenor Sax and Orchestra 1954-1959
  14. Bob Costas is calling the Yankee games today on YES, if anyone is interested.
  15. The Things They Carried is the best O’Brien book but Going After Cacciato is pretty darn good. If I Die in A Combat Zone is also very good; not fiction but autobiographical
  16. On the subject of Vietnam, Tim O’Brien’s novels are fantastic.
  17. It will be released here in a couple of weeks.
  18. I can’t see buying 12 CDs so I think the 2 cd set should do nicely.
  19. One of my favorite movies.
  20. Neat story. Not many couples can say they’ve been together that long.
