Dexter Gordon "At The Subway Club 1973" (Elemental Music)

From the New Yorker: The Inspired Sounfs of a Newly Released Dexter Gordon Set -
That is rather impressive Steve. Understatement

I have about 3,000 CDs and I think that’s too much. 20,000 is mind blowing but then again Ken is in the business. Chuck and Larry must have huge collections.

I did a reverse image search and received the following reply. Doesn’t really answer the question but perhaps someone may want to follow up. https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/entertainer-nat-king-cole-records-in-the-studio-with-an-news-photo/74258801

Resonance to release pre-Capitol Nat King Cole box set
Brad replied to ghost of miles's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I thought there were some questions about needle drops. That is the only reason I mentioned it. If not, then as you were, as they say in the Army Maybe he’s not responding because he feels as if he’s being interrogated. Perhaps Resonance feels they’re doing something positive for the music by producing this set and are receiving the third degree. Maybe that is the reason Mosaic does not participate here. -

Touché but even lawyers have a code of ethics. I’m not sure there is one in the music industry. -

If some of the tracks on this set are needle drops, what’s the difference. I’ll answer it for you. None. Otherwise, I do prefer Resonance. However, I have no idea what “ethics” means. The term “practice” I understand. -
Some people are not as adept at others at figuring things out. I don’t think your comment was necessary. What I did was search reverse image search and it led me to tineye.com, which requires you to enter the photo’s address. I clicked on the photo and got the address. I then entered it in tineye and received the following result: https://www.tineye.com/search/8ae62fb86711e3f769f0403405cb4125f922ec04?page=1 I clicked on the Getty Images link and discovered the answer.

Google the words “reverse image search” and you come up with a lot of hits.

Resonance to release pre-Capitol Nat King Cole box set

This is starting to somewhat resemble the needle drop discussion regarding the Keynote set made by Fresh Sound. Not saying it’s exactly the same discussion but there are some elements there. -
I never heard of a reverse image search until today but that's an amazing feature.

NYRB Classics is having what they call a 50% “flash” sale on Elizabeth Hardwick and Renata Adler books, for those who may be interested. “Two incisive, boldly experimental novels from the 1970s by Elizabeth Hardwick and Renata Adler (plus five additional titles from the two writers) are being offered at 50% off for the next 24 hours.”

The watchword of all fans. Patience.

I can’t seeing buying a set that contains 7 CDs worth of his music. I’m just not that much of a fan of NKC. Perhaps if they eventually do one of their best of CDs, I’d go for that. However, to those who are big fans, I’m sure you will be very happy. -

NYRB has only published two of his books although he’s written a few more. Both are good although I prefer My Face for the World to See.

This is almost a question of why do we like baseball? It's in our blood, so to speak, passed down from parents to the kids. I think one way to appreciate is to find a favorite team and follow them, their players, their ups and downs. I think there is few things better than going to a ball game. It's an experience in and of itself that you can't translate into Tv. There's the green grass, the buzz in the crowd, the crowd itself (who can be amazing with all the characters you might see), the action going on the field and I just don't just mean balls thrown, pitches hit (or not), balls caught and runs scored. You can see players talking to other players, kidding with each other, or yelling at each other. Like Jim said, it's organic, or an experience. You feel alive, a feeling of rebirth.
