Artists File Suit Against Universal Music Over 2008 Fire
Brad replied to sonnymax's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I wasn't referring to the artist but to Jim and the public at large. Even though each side may have the contract (plus all amendments, if any), it still may be discoverable, just to make sure both sides are working off the same document. -

Why are you getting fed up? Were you not happy with their effort against the US? They performed better than expected. I thought they would be beaten badly but gave the US a very good game. Spain is a coming force in football. I’m glad to see the women’s game become more popular. It’s also a reflection of women’s growing role in all areas of society. From what I’ve read, the game has received a lot of support in Spain, which is why Real probably decided to add a team; they don’t want to be left behind by Barcelona and Athletico Madrid. See this article in the New York Times: For Spain, Investment Pays Off at the World Cup -

Tough loss for Japan on a PK to the Dutch today. Japan played better most of the game (especially in the second part of each half) and had some good ideas but sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. Credit the Dutch keeper for the victory. She made some terrific saves. -

It may be me but I didn’t find the match all that compelling. -

I assume these are all existing contracts. If not, there may be a statute of limitations defense. -

I didn’t like the US team’s attitude in their match against Thailand and I lived in Spain so I always root for them in football (soccer). I hope that explains things. -

What a terrible pk call. I guess it just wouldn’t do to have the US eliminated at this point. Que barbaridad! -

Spain and US are tied at half time and Spain is playing well, with growing confidence. US has never lost this early in the knockout stage. Could this be the time. Vamos España!! -

France managed to prevail over Brasil in extra time. The French coach said that nothing less than the Finals is acceptable but they face the US next and I don’t see them winning. Whoever designed the brackets should have placed France in the other one. -
Awesome Red. Actually, there is very little Red that isn't.

True, but in agreements I work on I try to remove faxes as a means of communication because numbers change and they're not a reliable form of notification. However, people still want to use them.

I’d like to say that it’s sad that people don’t know what a telex is but I guess it’s a sign of the times. You can probably call it a precursor of the fax, which, too, is outdated. When I was starting out as an attorney, we had a typist pool but I’d say by 1990, they were on the way out. We used to send changes on contracts back and forth by fax and show changes to drafts by hand, which, if it was a complicated contract, took time to make. This all started to change around 1998 when your computer could show the changes (a process that took about five seconds) and revised documents were emailed back and forth. The only thing you needed faxes for were signature pages but when pdf came along, we didn’t need fax machines either.

I ordered a book from them once and they canceled. Never again. I don’t like big sellers. Never have. -

A somewhat entertaining match tonight between Uruguay and Japan. Very free flowing, especially the first part of the second half. At the very least, better than the squalid matches of the last couple of days. -

They said he’s temporary. Very strange. The Mets are messed up. -

Mets have fired their pitching coach and named The Vulture as his replacement. He’s all of 82. Maybe if they had some bodies who had some talent they wouldn’t have had to replace the pitching coach. -

I don’t think it’s a bad idea, perhaps as a preparatory move to Montreal. Tampa’s management is very forward thinking. -

A terrible effort. No creativity. A typical South American affair, a lot of fouling. No ebb and flow. Arg was lucky to get that pk call. -

Unfortunately, he's no longer that person and has never been able to explain the $2 million he received from Blatter. That semifinal was a classic though. It's still confounding that Italy won. -

I never had to resort to such extreme measures. You must have a very bad case to be taking prednisone.
