  1. I haven’t given it much thought but I wonder how many jazz versions there are of Beatie songs (having recently listened to Organissimo’s album).
  2. Love this disc. Disc 2. Top notch Getz and Garner.
  3. The description indicates the box is not in great shape. That’s probably the reason for the lower price.
  4. Jazz Profiles has issued an article that Larry wrote in 1987 that was in Larry’s Jazz in Search of Itself. Hank Mobley: A Posthumous Appreciation Jazz Profiles has also posted an article written by Michael James in 1961, which is apparently hard to find. Hank Mobley in Jazz Monthly
  5. The common law in cases of lost or abandoned property has been superseded by statute in many states. Regarding citing definitions in a legal law dictionary, not that this applies to non lawyers, but on the first day of Contracts, a first year course required of entering students (along with Torts, Civil Procedure, Criminal Law and Property), the Professor said that if anyone ever cited Blacks Law Dictionary, he would fail them on the spot. Needless to say, I shelved it and rarely used it again.
  6. You mean, like “finders-keepers”? That may have been the practice once but it’s not the law. It’s more like folk wisdom.
  7. If they knew (or found out) that it belonged to the Red Sox, they’re under an obligation to return the property to them. They’re trying to keep property that doesn’t belong to them. It’s different than finding money on the street or some other property where the owner can’t be identified. At a minimum, if they didn’t know who the owner was, legally they’re required to give the property to the police.
  8. If I were the Red Sox, I'd tell him we won't prosecute if you hand it back. If I were the Red Sox, I'd tell him we won't prosecute if you hand it back.
  9. That's a cool memento Kevin. Happy Birthday Mr. Cuscuna and thanks for all the music, too many to mention.
  10. The Browns are a predecessor of the Os so it’s all in the family. Since 1960, the 62 Mets have the worst win percentage, .250, and I don’t think anyone will break that mark. However, in the modern era, the As own the record.
  11. I think I may have seen that review; I ordered the first one. Unfortunately, I’m probably not good enough to read it in Spanish. I’ve started the Civil War History in Spanish but am not making too much headway, yet. My father, who was self taught, used to read a lot of books in Spanish. He even read Don Quijote in Spanish. Hope your friend likes the book.
  12. There is also another series of books by Carlos Ruiz Zafón about the Civil War in Barcelona that are supposed to be good.
  13. Glad you’re liking this. Uncertain Glory by Joan Sales is also quite good, although a little different.
  14. It appears the Justice Department is opening an investigation on his “going private” fiasco.
  15. For me, it’s Aftermath. So many great songs like Goin’ Home and Under My Thumb.
  16. A draw would have been a disappointment after they jumped out to 2 nil.
  17. What other one do you like? I like their early stuff but lost interest after that.
  18. One of my favorite albums period.
  19. Listened to it again this afternoon while I was doing some work around the house. It's even better than when I first listened to it. Any likelihood you might do something like this again, maybe more Beatles or some other well known bands. I think Cream would be terrific. Of course, I know the rights fees are probably expensive.
  20. Barca was impressive today, particularly Messi — what else is new?
  21. It’s different however. Tesla is a consumer products company, with completely different issues. At the present, he’s better suited to a speculative venture like Space X.
  22. Different business, different corporate structure and financing. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/13/equidate-spacex-27-billion-valuation-shows-unlimited-private-funding-available.html
  23. Live at Royal Albert Hall is a very good cd; I borrowed it from my local library a few years ago.
