I think if we were seeing vintage Severino or the one we saw in the first half, I’d be more inclined to agree, although he’s pitched better recently. Notwithstanding, the Yankees should win.

I listened to Boone's press conference yesterday and I thought his reasons for starting Severino were weak. I have never been impressed by him and still find no reason to change my mind. If the Yanks lose tonight, the next sound you hear will be the network executives taking a header off the Empire State Building.

From the get go, this game never had a good vibe for the Cubs. It just didn’t seem they were going to get anything going. Guess I will have to find another team to root for.

Cubs are lucky that the Baez Arenado hug wasn’t called obstruction, leading to an inning ending double play. Nothing came out of it so no harm. Just imagine had the Cubs won in that inning, the Rockies would be howling.

I’m not sure I can blame the Giants for not showing up; they just wanted the season over with. The Nats had a disappointing season, one filled with expectations so they probably just wanted to get out of town as soon as possible.

Soul Station posted a video juxtaposing what Kavanaugh said on Thursday with scenes with Samuel Jackson from Pulp Fiction; you can find it on YouTube. I saw it on Friday; pretty funny. Mjzee, who I assume supports Kavanaugh, posted a photo of Kavanaugh and his family with the caption “I’m With Them” and commented “Since we’re now doing politics.” The rest you can see. The video is pretty funny but I guess it’s political. I don’t think we need to bring the walking fucked up scene that is our political system here. It pervades our lives enough so let’s try to keep it away from here.

Who takes the first solo on the first cut. Liked what I heard. There were some great hosts back then: Johnny, Merv Griffin and Mike Douglas, although I thought he was the weakest. I used to really like Merv. His sidekick was Arthur Treacher. Talk about an unlikely duo.

Amazing story. People not having their degree happens more than you think. Years ago, I had a summer job in the mailroom at Paul Weiss, a top NY law firm. While I was there, they fired one of their top associates (someone on partnership track I was told) who didn't have his law degree. In fact he had never been to law school.
